The ONLY reason zerg outfits cannot be beaten

Routinely Farm GOON with 1 squad - zergs assist in cert gain, no complaints here. I don't have Render distance issues and I snipe 99% of the time. Big outfits without coordination are the laughing stock of PS2 regardless of what faction they play for.

What? Sure you can.... As I have said a million times, just because a bad game mechanic, glitch, OP weapon/vehicle, bug or whatever else is in the game it doesn't mean someone has to use it. No one is putting a gun to their head. People are responsible for the **** they do.
  3. Wibin

I like the fact that my 6 man outfit takes out platoons sometimes. haha.

from a mattherson perspective (actually cross all servers but w.e) i find that Vanu are not allowed to complain or discuss about this matter..

due to the fact they never engage into a real fight anyway

you guys ( the Vanu) prefer to freecap even in double XP weekends and even IF you guys grace us with your presence it is only in Scyt, liberator or Magrider (shooting shells from atleast 2 miles away is mandatory) form

really in the beginning the Vanu were a highly organized infantry army and the NC were the free cert farm

now the NC have fought themselves up to great and if not to equal standards with the TR while the Vanu slithered themselves down to a path of dishonour and disgrace

I enjoyed reading this thread. Per Smed PS2 has only about 10% PS (1) players, though I would suspect that Matherson has a much higher percentage. Its pretty easy to differentiate PS vet outfit posters from new PS2 posters. ( Love for all) The OP has stated the thread was about the rendering problems, and I have to say I will be making sure my rendering adjustments have stuck from the patches.

All the other hate for large outfits or zerging or whatever... fun to read the drama.. but glad I am not a part of it ( the drama). PS/PS2 has always been a "players choice" of playstyle. I wont judge ( here) as to what the correct playstyle is. But I will say this: outfits allow players to experience "moving the map", this cannot be done solo... and moving the map is (in general) very counter to a good K/D ratio. The point being that whining about "zerg" and/or claiming superiority ie farming that same zerg (outfit)... is not great feat some may feel it to be. Outfits play a different game, we enjoy that experience.

I enjoy seeing that the old outfits still give us the oppurtunity to play in that style. It is a style that ONLY PS has ever offered.
Wave to Vindi, Enclave... see you on the battlefield.

    Yup!

A base design that allows for proper defense without resorting to the old "lol 1 entrance hallway" gimmick would do wonders in mitigating the render distance issue.

You know, maybe one with a centralized spawn area (that can't be camped by tanks) that leads to 5 or so entrances (that can't be camped by tanks) which would each allow a small and highly skilled team (that can't be camped by tanks) to defend while still having enough room for larger groups (that can't be camped by tanks) to move and fire?

Also <3 to the zergfits etc etc etc but seriously base design base design base design.

This thread is nothing more than a hot dog measuring contest.

Every outfit in the game has had thier backs broken plenty of times by now.

I feel so alone when I read threads like these.

Am I the only person who doesn't have a strong opinion on this topic? And does that make me some kind of freak?
I just treat getting rolled by a Zerg like being rolled by Hackers. Accept it and move on... (since there's nothing I can do about it anyway. The Video I uploaded to report directly to SOE through their primary Support form last week still has no Views).

The sooner your faction cuts the zerg off while you delay it, the better.

Seriously, thats all there is to it. Atleast in PS2's current state.
  11. PoopMaster

Players would whine if the bases were set up in a practical manner unfortunately.

I don't really have strong feelings about it either, numbers mattering is sorta part of open-world PvP, but that might just be my EVE experience talking.

On the subject of the OP's commentary render distance cuts both ways and actually can favor defenders a lot as they cluster inside what walls they have with shorter ranged weapons where they might have been sniped through windows and such otherwise, render distance is an issue but I don't think it favors or disfavors the 'Zerg' after all it keeps them from being able to effectively engage with most of their weapons at the same time.

What is an issue is facility/outpost design and the lack of particularly potent defensive weapons, MAX suits in particular need better answers to vehicles then they currently have as they're the perfect base defense unit that can only really be used indoors or isolated from the enemy vehicles lest they get blown up.

I play VS on Matterson. I rather like fighting TE.

It's usually always a tug of war battle that goes on for an hour, sometimes longer. And in the end.. Sometimes we push them back, sometimes we get overwhelmed. But when we're actually duking it out it's fun. Seeing both outcomes, knowing that anything can happen in these large scale fights..it's a lot of fun. Living in that moment.. That midpoint in a large conflict. That's what this game is about.

Of course we forget all about that here. And the bickering commences. "well we backed out cause THE CROWN!" or "YEAH YOU GOT STOMPED CAUSE WE REDIRECTED BROS FROM X and Y"

But, in the end, that's all conjecture for the ones who think too hard about what's going on.

Goon, you guys as well. You've given me hours of entertainment, both winning and losing.
