The ONLY reason zerg outfits cannot be beaten

    Lol so ridiculous.

I feel the same way about Enclave..they only stick around if they are clearly winning. The NC Coalition on Mattherson has stopped them many times..

    I am in CML

The really cool battles will happen when the large outfits fight each other. Right now, since there are no sactuaries and each continent is an island... well it doesn't matter terribly much.

Bio Labs have the best hiding spots :)

This thread should be named "Cry about The Enclave".

There are lots of big outfits. It's just commonplace for people to immediately blame TE for playing the game the way it's meant to be played imo. I watch Buzz's stream regularly. It's the #1 PS2 stream on Twitch. People who dislike TE just can't help themselves to tune in and see what's going on or being said. They watch a organized outfit play the game then come on the forums and just cry away. The assumption is if you are part of TE, then you are this and that. It's so unbelievably ridiculous.

Lots of people watch the stream and would love to be able to be apart of something like that regardless of someones point of view. I don't see any other large outfits streaming. I wonder why that is? I bet all these "Holier than thou" outfits TS chat wouldn't disappoint with a few not-so-PC comments here and there. The same type of people that let all the jokes fly when they are out drinking with their close group of friends and then deny they would ever say anything like that EVER.

    Just saying......

I stream for the vindi's but no one watches because I die too much.

Also, I want to say I do not think the enclave is very organized. I have read numerous posts here about their organization but you can watch them slowly stream into a contested cap/generator and just get farmed. At amp station attacks they seem to have little coordination as it takes them forever to get all the generators down. With their numbers, all generators should go down within seconds of each other and I never see that from them. Just my opinions.

We have a small chapter from our main guild that plays on Mattherson (OTG - Old Timers Guild). We've always enjoyed the challenge when Enclave arrives. We typically have 12 to 30 players on at a time, but we work together to achieve objectives and stymy the larger zerg(s). We've had our share of exchanges with BuzzCut (Enclave), however we've always consider the verbal exchanges in /yell as just game related barbs and par for the course.

Despite their numbers we've never seen them intentionally or deliberately try to cheat, although there may be a few bad apples in any bunch (as large Guilds/Clan might) we don't necessarily attribute that to Enclave as a whole (I'm not suggesting they have cheaters or that they cheat). We respect Enclave's capability and enjoy ducking it out with them.

Zergs do not get defeated often because they move in different circles. A zerg is only a zerg when there are no actual defenders. Otherwise the zerg is called an army and is facing another army.

When I log in and look at the map I ask "Where's my army?" I have no *** **** idea where my army is and have to bounce around guessing where the **** to fight. Empty bases should give zero rewards. Something needs to be done to force the armies to face each other. Why the **** can we not see our own disposition of friendly forces and known enemy contacts on the global map?

The map makes no sense. "Enemy platoons detected" so does that mean there's two guys trying to fight them all?

Or the red fire marker for a combat situation, does that mean when I drop in that I will be once again caught between the two other factions with nobody from my army present?

    Seems to be the norm.

With the amount of people that apply to TE new and old of course there are going to be people that are learning how to play within the ranks. Look at the amount of applications they get. It would be the same for any large outfit. People who play together for long periods of time know how each other work and what to expect.

If that's true, as I said, they rampantly exploit the game engine's limitations. Much more complicated than a simple renderwall (Eve is a much, much, much more complicated game), but it still boils down to knowing the innate limitations of the engine and using those technological limits to your advantage. This lies outsides the spirit of fair play and is simple exploitation.

Don't get me wrong, if it were deadly serious, you would use EVERY advantage...but this is a video game, and it isn't.

Anyone who thinks GOON cannot be beaten is clearly not paying attention.

The fact that this thread has turned into a thread about my outfit speaks volumes of the impact we have upon lesser outfits.

    Keep it up guys.

The Enclave is one of my favorite zergfits. Nothing else gets your k/d ratio up quite like farming them. They recruit literally anyone willing to join so 90% of their players are absolutely awful. I'm really at a loss as to how anyone could tolerate following BowlCut around too. Guy is a below average player who just mass recruits to get more people to help him camp spawns for exp.

Goon is way more amusing though. They're a zerg sure, but I don't think they really give a crap. I love the endless trolling from them.

Quoted for truth, the big reason people hate on Buzzcut and The Enclave is these reasons. My reason for hating them is that they openly exploit broken game mechanics to their advantage, are uncontroled for the amount of c**p they spew in /yell. They come across as a bunch of immature idiots who have egos bigger then their pants size. That just makes their entire outfit look bad and it doesn't seem to phase their leadership but then again apparently Buzzcut acts the same way from what I have been hearing. Even goon isn't that bad and they have quite the reputation from EVE. Hell I almost ended up in TE because a guy from one my non Planetside clan was an old TE person from PS1. But after how they behaved at launch and in beta Im glad I didn't join.

Openly exploit broken game mechanics? Pray tell, of which exploits do you speak my fair friend?

Honestly, it wasn't suppose to, but your Outfit is probably the best example I have on Matherson of what happens to the Render/draw distance once your crew locks down somewhere. Yesterday you guys held Mani on Esamir to prevent VS to take the Cont. I could see through the sheilds watching the Cycler-max wall you had on the south pad. Unfortunately, our libs/Scythes/HA/Snipers couldn't touch it because of the render problem. Had outfit members using libs-belly-up tactics to sling rounds deep into the bio-lab, but it wouldn't touch you guys because of that issue.

This wasn't suppose to be a "Big outfits are bad uh-kay" thread, but using the big outfits as an example of why it's frustrating to fight them. I want a good fight, I want a BIG fight, I don't want to have to leave every time a massive outfit-push shows up because it'd be silly to defend against short-range rendering.

Volumes and volumes, but then I suppose any press is good press?
  18. Zorlox

having players that aren't the best of the best doesn't make an outfit a zergfit. besides, what's wrong with zergs, if all the zergs left the game the servers would be empty and this game would get dull real quick for many reasons.

ah, nothing beats drama threads, makes time go by faster until i get to play and it gives me a good laugh to see the reasons people get their panties in a bunch for. :) you're all gamers, get along and kill each other or ignore each other and play the game.
  19. Tvayumat

    ^this^

The REAL problem here is that the game engines limitations are preventing any really meaningful large battles from taking place. We are all constantly battling with render/draw and hit registration. It's frustrating to execute tactical maneuvers only to discover that they are fruitless because you ran into a group of 30+ dudes that didn't even register on your screen until you were five feet away.

It's not a problem that is in any way unique to The Enclave, but it becomes much more apparent when large outfits mobilize.

Essentially, the ideal form of this game (Massive multi outfit battles) is impossible to achieve with the game in the state it is in.

Smaller battles are much more fun for everyone right now, which is messed up.

Has obviously not read any of this thread beyond the first 5 posts.
