The new T7 Mini Chaingun on PTS... Is a nerf.

    The current itteration of the T7 Mini Chaingun on the test server is an outright nerf:

    - They've destroyed the weapon's potential range with an ADS cone of fire resembling that of the HIPFIRE cone of fire of the default MSW-R.

    - Rate of fire has been increased to 1000+ RPM... But only if you sacrifice your extended mags for a "rate of fire overclock" attachment, meaning you run out of bullets in the mag in ~4-5 seconds and have to sit through a reload time of 4.39 to 5.39 seconds !

    In return, we get:

    - No ADS cone of fire bloom. Wow.

    - Nothing else.

    SOE, I am not amused. Make it like this:

    - 1000+ RPM default, 125-137 damage @ 10 meters, 100 @ 60 meters.

    - 150 bullet magazine. 300 with extended magazines. 450 extra ammo in reserve, 300 with extended mags.

    - Reduce the ADS cone of fire back to 0.1 and give it bloom again, maybe 0.03 bloom per shot, instead of the current 0.05 on live servers.

    I hope this is some kind of late April fool's joke. I really do. I'd much rather keep the weapon I have on live servers at the moment.

    STandard MCG shoul have more bullets than any certed weapons, so 200 bullets standard ok?

    ATM it rivals a PPSH41 with a 200 round barrel mag instead of a 71.

    Is this the Minigun of the Heavies? if so... finally! ive seen people snipe with that when it shouldnt be an accurate gun.

    Isnt it a good thing that you can magdump? Fast.........
    A 150 magazine size would be nice, considering that RoF.

    Kind of like the NC max. Only 6 round magazine and 3-4 second reload.

    Its a better weapon than before.
    Formally there was no reason to get the MCG, now there is....
    It gives more variety now.

    Wow, that is incredibly dissapointing. We need an attachment to make a Chaingun do what it is supposed to do by name? All the while we also lose our extended mags and our cone?

    Did they at least remove wind up time?!

    The MCG should have the most bullets and fire rate of any infantry weapon in the game by default. I would be totally fine with a CoF nerf if they had simply ramped up the fire rate And left the extended mag slot alone. (Or move the Overclock addon to the Barrel slot. It is the barrels that spin fast anyways)

    Also, flip the thing over already and make it underslung. Nobody cares about taking cover when they are using a chaingun. You ARE the cover When you are vomiting 1000+ rounds downrange.

    Well SOE likes nerfs I guess.

    I has excited that TR would finally get a great weapon but nope. At least you didn't get an MBT secondary nerf. It seems that all these patches do is nerf. Nerfs make the game less fun. Your favorite weapon now sucks. Buffs to other weapons give you awesome alternatives to you fav weapon and make everyone happier. Buff it don't nerf it.

    I've been on the PTS and don't see it as a nerf. The fixed CoF is one of the biggest buffs that this gun needed. I agree that the magazine size needs to be increase because using that RoF attachment only leaves you with 100 rounds at 1000+ RPM. You will go dry in about 5-6 seconds.

    Default needs to be 150-200, with extended mags making it 300-400.

    Or... just turn the RoF attachment for the grip into a barrel attachment..
    Or... just make the 1000 RPM default for the chaingun in general.

    These are the changes I personally think it needs the most atm.

    Took me back to COD 1 with that picture….

    I'd like to see the MCG with a larger default mag and maybe, just maybe a little more survivability? As it is, the gun is a "spirit weapon", not really fulfilling any particular niche. If you want mag, just whip out your CARV-S or Bull. 200 round mag with no spin-up. By the time the MCG is fully firing, you're either dead or the enemy is dead o_O

    Add Underslung
    Add a mini-resist shield when it's firing

    Then you can stand at the front line going "Raaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr"

    The starting RoF with the new attachment equipped is somewhere around 700-750 RPM. Thats nearly or exactly the same RoF as the Carv. I don't have stats to back this up but this was based on personal testing. If the starting RoF is indeed 750, that means the MCG w/ attachment will be a CQC - Med range powerhouse.

    Combine this with the lack of bloom in ADS...

    It only needs a default magazine increase, but it is still worth using for that RoF boost.

    In my mind the fixes could be

    1) Make the overdrive reduce (or possibly remove) the amount of rounds I have to dump before I get the benefit of the MCG. The issue is is I have to dump 1/4 of my mag before I get the RoF benefit.

    2) Make it a barrel attachment. This way I can also equip extended mags.

    3) Just make the RoF and CoF default.

    4) Make the default mag bigger, or possibly no mag at all, but give it a heat indicator.

    i personally dont see any change in the fire rant.

    granted this is still the test server, and we dont know the numbers.

    At least they didn't nerf the damage. 1000+ RPM gun with 143 damage per bullet is quite crazy. And long range ADS was inevitable nerf. Miniguns are not for sniping, you know.
