The New Flash Physics are Ridiculously Horrible

I'm glad your fine with it, a lot of people are not on the other hand. I don't know if you played with the flash since it came out, but there
is a major problem when for months - it is amazing at jumps and ramps, then one patch day it cant even handle simple terrain without exploding. Yes can someone be careful and have a good time, yes very possible. Its hard to be that extra careful when your being chased by aircrafts, being targeted by tanks, and trying to race through an area unscathed, I did it earlier no problems - but I also wasn't risking ramps like I used to, not big ramps. I really do think they nerfed or goofed something on the flash either accidental or purposefully. Either way its a lot less fun overall then it used to be, and given that games are made to have fun - and this particular game lets you spend money on your vehicles its a slap in the face to a lot of us that certed for the Flash.

Yeah things like that use to be possible, these days you just look at a Flash a bit funny and it suddenly flips on its back and explodes. :(
  3. treisinegomoh

This part of the flash has no hit model - it cant be shot either

ATV stands for All Terrain Vehicle. Not stay on the designated road open air transport.
  6. TeknoBug

Yes I noticed with the most recent patch, you hit a wall of a building and the bike does a wheelstand (rear 2 wheels) and you blow up, happened to me twice both doing the wheelstand whereas before your bike had to be completely flipped before it blows.
  7. Sebyos

I barely ever flipped a ******* flash since release and I flipped 5 yesterday. Hell I fliped 3 in a row during an alert where I had to rush some territory for my outfit in order to ensure victory... Guess what ? I didn't ******* make it.

Give us decent physics SoE do your job well sometimes.

The thing basically has no bottom weight so any jump or any mid air flight time the thing has a penchant for flipping over on it's side mid air (even small drops off hills). You can even see this happen every time it the video when it jumps it starts to flip on over to it's side. A wrong landing at all and the thing blows up and rolls over. That includes if you're going over a small hill and do a little hop while turning at the same time and the whole thing will flip on over but only enough for you to land on your head and die. I've done this more times than I care to count.

All they need to do to fix it is make it so the vehicle has more bottom weight and doesn't twist mid air and all the problems would be solved.

Even with scrapper3 the dam ATV is horrible to drive. Kind of like trying to ride a 4wheeler on ice. Haven't cared for sunderer lately either, every little bump throws it way the hell off course and slides on any angled surface.

    Surger chassis.

I have it maxed out and I rarely if ever flip my flash anymore.

If you're doing a lot of off-roading, it only makes sense to cert your flash into off-roading.

give it a try in VR, it really does improve stability and handling when going over bumps. My outfit mates are no longer scared to ride on the back of my flash when I have that chassis equipped.
  11. Ghosty11

The Surger frame still makes the Flash more stable over rough terrain. I recently started playing an alt who's Flash had no frame upgrades and going over nearly any hill would flip the thing compared to my main's decked out Flash with full Surger chassis. So I bought the alt Surger level 1 and the Flash is at least ride-able over rough terrain.
  12. Scatterblak

Agree. I'd also like to see the hit/collision box fixed - I can't count the times that I run my cloaked flash over an enemy, dead straight on, with no effect whatsoever. Last night I ran over an enemy fully cloaked, nothing happened, so I kept going (there were other enemies ahead), and the guy I tried to run over killed me. Cloaked, riding a flash, turning and jumping, and he shot just enough rounds to kill me, and didn't miss with any of them.
  13. sustainedfire

That happens at random, there are times I intentionally run over people to no effect, and other times when I'm no where near a person (always factionmates!)and I pankake them unexpectedly.

I missed the days when u capsized and didn't explode. Oh and when the deconstruct button actually works
  15. Dragonblood

Dunno if it's the combat chassis 3 or because I drive the flash so frequently....but it doesn't happen that often to me.......but yes, with GU6 the physics of the flash got crappy.

Just a hint: Don't drive with full speed on the edge of small hills/bumps that WILL flip you for sure. Slow down or drive straight over the top of those bumps.
  16. TeknoBug

Noticed how the Sunderer flips a little too easily too? I was riding in one and the driver managed to flip it to its side when driving into the side of the road (small bump) and kill all of us.
  17. Technologist

I don't get why the DEV's took the most vulnerable easily killed vehicle and made it explode on bumps. Why put unneeded frustrations where people suicide because of a terribly designed quad into a game? I mean suicide deaths from a flash do not add to the game. They just make that part suck. How many people enjoy blowing up from a small bump riding a flash? If something just detracts from the game, why add it?

I used to enjoy jumping the huge gap from the crown to TI with my turbo flash. That was some serious air.

In real life I've crashed my quads and dirt bikes many times and I'm still alive but in a game I'v died 100's of times just going from point A to point B.

Make the flash less easily flipped like it was. Upon flipping allow it to be flipped back over but in somewhat damaged condition. When a Flash is flipped the driver should take some damage but death should be rare just like in real life.

So it behaves like in Trackmania? Holy Vanu...

Mine is certed and handles well. I should get kill points for getting enemy flashes to follow me. Sad when friendlies try. But you need certed up just to get around friendly idiot tank drivers that can't look out their window and at the minimap. I don't know how I can drive all this stuff without hitting anyone but others act like it earns them points.
  20. Takoita

The main gripe I have with it is that horrible lack of traction/momentum/whatever that makes climbing hills that even a MAX can traverse in a speedy fashion impossible. That horrbile GU1 is still giving us trouble.
