[Suggestion] the game needs advertising, online is dying!

You had me at point 1, then what happened?

You state the game is full of cheese (which it is) then in your follow up claim everything's fine and everyone approves of the changes lmao.

How does that even make sense. There's people that left due to the prowler nerf or simply don't use it. There's people that left or that don't do certain directives due to the launchers nerf. I'm sure there's players that left, but there's a lot that definitely don't play construction due to the nerf and how it was implemented. Even if there's no stats to prove people are quitting or not due to that, you can clearly see people avoid some playstyles and gravitate to others due to balancing issues. When people wanna deleted everything they pull a2g. When people wanna kill air they avoid aa at all costs cuz it sucks. When people aren't very good at infantry they play infil. There's clear patterns that are observable and people have mentioned are the cause of their frustrations. Even in your first point you mention it, the game's full of cheese, so most people leave.

Reddit was never considered an official forum for the game, and is the last place anyone should go to for advice. The amount of brainrot and just outright insane takes on there is mind boggling. It's like twitter, I just don't use it. There's no reason the devs should've went to a platform they themselves don't consider official and can't moderate, to get advice from a very vocal minority of the community. It's quite a well known story within the community, so not sure why you're trying to justify it by projecting. If my ego could be hurt by randoms posting things I disagree with about a dying video game on a edgy platform known for it's cringe, I wouldn't be on the internet dude.

Except that not once did I say everything is fine.

It doesn't make sense because it's not something that I said. You're vastly misunderstanding what I'm actually saying.

That it isn't "official" is completely irrelevant. It's the year 2024, most companies draw feedback from reddit, discord, twitter, all kinds of places that aren't "official". The fact is that reddit has dramatically more traffic than the forums, the forums are dead and no amount your personal opinion about reddit is going to change. And having used both, reddit isn't any more cooked than the forums are. If anything it's less cooked because there are more rational players active on reddit than there are users on the forums in total.

I showed you what you asked - when and how the infils were nerfed. But you didn’t know this. There is no need to brag here about how long you have been playing and who knows the game better. In a specific fact, you showed incompetence.
As for your allusion to my English - yes, it is not my native language. But it is thanks to those for whom English is not their native language that Server Miller shows the best online. Both you and daybreak should be happy about the presence of people like me and those players for whom English is not their native language. My native language (Russian) is one of the official languages of the game interface. Russian speakers also make up a significant part of Miller's population.
Therefore, your mockery sounds bad and inappropriate.

By the way, an interesting point regarding the well-being of this game. daybreak limited the ability to make payments from Russia. Why they did this is unclear. They simply imposed sanctions on themselves. Players from Russia still have free access to the game. But if they block us, they will again make it worse for themselves, because the online will collapse even more.
    The situation is funny...

Regarding this "but you haven't addressed anything regarding why the infiltration in it's current state isn't broken." - you use the tactic of presumption of guilt. All aggressive and loud minorities do this, including in well-known countries (we know which minorities we are talking about).

In normal democratic societies there is a presumption of innocence, as well as majority rule. But now in many places the power of an aggressive minority has been established. This will not lead to anything good.

As for me, despite many discouraging factors, there are no advertisements in the game, they do not appear on Steam and other platforms, on YouTube in random shorts or videos that regularly appear there, despite the preference of views, only through search. People only learn about the game through us because we offer it to friends and acquaintances.

I also forgot to mention another significant nerf of infiltrators. Now they can't capture capture points while cloaked.
This also applies to your words that you know the game better than others.

And the fact that despite obvious lack of knowledge of the game, your posts have some likes, suggests that many activists have some lack of competence, but compensate it with loudness and hatred.

Lets just say last Tuesday had so much pop; that there was a 96vs96 at Tumas Skylance Battery. and that never happens. Literally never seen a 96+vs96+ there. While other 48vs48's were taking place.

fyi that base is super dope for a 96vs96; citadel shields; grass tanks; not so much for anything less.

Then ye the flying mana turret guy killed busses the following 2 evening days. Which made 20% of people log out. Morale is important.

    1. Absolutely agree. Advertising isn't the solution for the game's population issues. It's not about attracting players but retaining them. Many newcomers are quickly turned off by the game's chaotic design and excessive exploits, leading to a rapid drop-off in engagement.

    2. Spot on. The predominant feedback I hear from new players about why they consider leaving involves feeling overwhelmed or consistently outmatched by veterans, whether it’s in aerial dogfights with ESF experts or on the battlegrounds. The harsh reality for newcomers involves dying within seconds of spawning, or futilely spending resources on vehicles and aircraft only to be swiftly taken down. The success of systems like Matchmaking Rating (MMR) and skill-based matchmaking in other games demonstrates how effectively these strategies can enhance the experience for new players, fostering longer-term engagement and satisfaction.

    3. The preference for developers to engage on Reddit over forums is likely due to the less restrictive moderation there, combined with a circle of fandom around former developers. However, this often leaves new players, whose candid feedback is vital for genuine insights into game experience, out in the cold. Unfortunately, this valuable perspective is frequently drowned out by elitist attitudes and dismissive comments such as "get good," "learn to play," or "it's a skill issue," which only serves to alienate those new to the game further. A keen way to determine the interest in a game is through forum activity. Player excitement can be measured and quantified for business intelligence purposes this way. Give it a try with Planetside 2's forum and compare early forum activity with current, as it should be extremely revealing.

I agree that game needs to develop ways to support new players to make their entry into the game more comfortable.
I have some rough thoughts about it.

As I said to someone else, developers engaging with players outside of "official" channels is the norm now. Reddit, discord, twitter, even facebook are places that developers for most modern games take feedback from. I'm not even talking about new players here, new players, at least in the last few years, get treated just fine by most people on reddit. Most of the "get good", "learn to play", "it's a skill issue" is directed at people who are objectively are not new, but have some cooked take. Even then, nowadays people will absolutely break down why a take is wrong. I'm already well aware that the forums were far more active several years ago, having participated in planetside forum discussions since PS1.
