So, idiots love their conspiracy theories. Claims of ''stealth patches'' (a la ''my jboots are slower!'') have been making the rounds with the evidence being the ''daily'' small download that is ''surely'' changing weapon balance. Hate to break it to you, but every time you run the PlanetSide 2 patcher (not just once per day, but every time), it downloads a 138,583 byte file called Uninstaller.exe. This isn't a stealth patch; someone at SOE messed up and the patcher erroneously redownloads the game's uninstaller every time you run it (the patcher). You can confirm this yourself: 1) Run the patcher 2) Click the ''Advanced tools'' button on the left side of the progress bar 3) Read the ''Updated File List'' (shown by default) 4) Stop being an imbecile As a bonus, when SOE does actually update the game, you can follow the above procedure to see which files have actually changed.
Checking game installation... Found 1 file(s) to update. Replacing Uninstaller.exe Finished downloading 138,583 bytes in 1.107 seconds (125,187 bytes per second) I am almost sure did destroys my voip . And yes it is every day happening . LOL secret patch LOL It say replacing uninstaller.exe dude.
I was under the impression the "stealth patches" most people moan about are when they change things during a real patch and fail to list all the changes on the patch update list, which seems to happen every update.
Well if they actually said what changed in the patch notes maybe ppl would trust the game and not be paranoid.
Honestly, though it may be true, you cant (well maybe you cant if yoru just blind) deny that some weapons performance have been shifted around from time to time. Subtle usually, but some days it just seems that your gun has wicked spread. Or maybe just isnt taking people down. Dozens of people, including myself, will tell you that some days the gun you've used forever and have become used to, suddenly just feels different. Me personally, i think the game some how dynamically interprets the weapon data, which varies from day to day. I know a couple of online games that do this specifically to keep balance between ingame factions (so one doesnt just completely wash over another permanently) which is what i assumed to have been going on. Its a legit mechanic but with out knowing about it can make things seem damn fishy.
