The Betelgeuse needs a buff

The Betelgeuse lost its .75 ADS with addition to the last round of LMG dmg nerfs makes the grind for it not worth it. So all us VS that did it got gypped by a classic DBG bait and switch.
With the buffs the Butcher and Godsaw received both of these directive weapons are now superior to the Betelgeuse.

Everyone discussing the upcoming SMGs or any other weapon for that matter shouldn't be concerned. Just like DBG did with the Betelgeuse , they'll suck everyone into purchasing these weapons and afterwards nerf them into oblivion such BS.

I wouldn't necessarily be against buffing it, but if a VS Heavy Assault kills me, it's 5 times out of 10 a Betelgeuse. 4 out of the remaining 5 is the Orion, but that's another question. So it shouldn't be that bad in theory, right?

Now I'm not saying that this alone should block any buffs being applied to it, nor does it say that the Betelgeuse is OP in any way, but one reason of balancing weapons is to smooth the distribution of individual choices, i.e. so not 90% of the playerbase uses a single weapon pushing the loadout choices into boredom.

BTW, this is the reason overused assets are often overnerfed in MMO games: to spread out the distribution of equipment use (as simply nerfing a given asset to a level that's even with other equipment will not resolve it's overuse ratio).

The often used F2P bait-and-switch model requires income from an initially strong asset, and then nerfing that asset once most of your audience has either purchased it, or decided they don't want to purchase it. Betelgeuse had no option to unlock by purchase (although one could argue that it may somewhat encourage players to purchase LMGs to unlock it, but you still have the LMGs you purchased).

    Y tho?

For an Auraxium weapon it's hideously common, I even saw at least one rank 48 with one. There's nothing wrong with an infinite ammo 750/143.

    Any problem exists BCAK

Hell no, betelgeuse is still one of the best and most used directive guns out there.
Go try playing butcher for a change and then tell me the betelgeuse still needs a buff.

Completely agree. Too many players have a distorted view of when buffs/nerfs should take place. OP doesn't have to mean broken, it simply means "over powered". And that doesn't even mean that the OP weapon is the problem, it could mean everything else needs to be brought up to speed.

Butcher is fantastic since the change. Highest ROF of all LMGs with 150 bullets per magazine. It is essentially a BG with slightly better TTK(very slightly) and instead of infinite ammo you're able to fire for 150 rounds before a reload. This is why the Butcher is so damn good. You just keep going and going and going. Everyone but you has to reload(or overheat) for a long time and when you reload there's usually no one left standing. The Butcher is also great in zombie wars, i.e. getting rezzed over and over during defense/offensive pushes.

For the role HA plays the Butcher is arguably the best LMG in the game now. Not "ZOMG BORKEN"-good but TR have no reason to be upset about their directive LMG anymore.

    +

The Butcher has SPA (without the loss off velocity)
    The Butcher velocity == 600m/s, The Betelgeuse == 540m/s

Notice how no NC are here to extoll the virtues of the Godsaw?

The VS have become the "bland" faction as a result of nerfs like this.

It's the reason the VS have a low pop problem across most of the servers, thanks again Wrel, look what you did to Miller.

I'm just sitting here trying to think of when it was buffed.

Come try Connery, VS almost always have pop advantage and it seems like every 5th HA is using an Auraxiumed Beetle, so clearly they aren't needing help.

Also the VS have entirely more unique and "X-factor" equipment than the other two, just a point of fact.

Butcher is so good that you dont even know which way horizontal recoil will ruin your aim unlike in most weapon.....
Butcher is at best a mediocre weapon, at best

    i agree with HAXTIME,
if a VS kills me in an unusually short amount of time it is usually a heavy with their infinite-ammo-lazer-death-spewer
i haven't got it for my VS yet but i've been on the recieving end of it plenty of times,
and every time i'm dead in a millisecond, it doesn't feel like it needs buffs.

godsaw is awesome! you have armour piercing bullets that can kill a lightning in a mere 4.5 years! :D

It has no better or worse TTK than an Orion/MSW-R/CARV. It is probably more a case of perception of power, i.e. everyone says the BG is awesome and I got killed with it therefor it is perhaps too awesome so I perceive it as more powerful than it is.

A random IRL example being when I grew a beard I started to see beards everywhere. Same thing happen in school, people study a thing and suddenly they see the world through that. Confirmation bias + perception of power = "NERFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF IT NAO! I feel so powerless!"

The other end, we have the Butcher who has been perceived as being bad and it doesn't really matter what changes in the game. It is always going to be bad in certain people's eyes.

agreed its just a competitive LMG similar to other good ones like orion and carv,
the only difference is that it has the huge advantage of never needing to reload if you manage the heatbar,
meaning you can cover a doorway and keep it covered, enemy after enemy, never needing to reload.
