I keep seeing people screaming about the lattice and how it has changed their gameplay for the worse. However I see more defenders when I go places than ever before. I also see a surge of defenders when my outfit goes to take over a place. Defenders actually coming and defending a base is a good thing. Before, if someone wanted to defend, the attackers would just go around that base. I don't know how lattice changed people's mindsets about defense, but I'm glad it changed. It also makes taking a base that much more satisfying because the whole team needs to work together to overcome the defense. The only thing left to add for a logistics purpose, is to link spawn room redeploys to the lattice. I know it said it was done this way in the patch notes, but it doesn't seem to be playing that way on the live servers. If the base get's cut off, those in the hex should be locked inside the hex (other than warpgate redeploy) and those outside should have no other way in than to drive there. The primary resource then is reinforcements, rather than just some points to spend on spawning vehicles.
It's nice to be able to set up defenses again. Whenever my outfit tried, the enemy just went to one of the other 4 - 5 bases that they could attack. Nice to have a general idea of what the hell your enemy will be doing this time.
/Agree - and this is only the first step, to turn this into planetside. I am loving the back and forth battles between facilities on the lattice lines. Sure sometimes you are fighting a losing fight against a larger force that continually pushes you backwards on the lattice, but the enemy still needs to go through you rather then around and cutting you off. There is a lot of fun to be had defending...
Totally agree. ////// Base defense need XP reward like attack. It is fun and attackers will enjoy the attack more if there is more then few desperate guys to hopeless defend...
