I'm happy to report that the last two unannounced updates (one 40 MB and the other 300+ MB) have restored the game to its former glory, for my system at least. MUCH APPRECIATED!! To those SOE employees who face an impending layoff, I'm so sorry and my thoughts are with you.
I was wondering if we going to get some note on these updates. I would love to know what fixes have been applied. I still have the bug that if i cloak and uncloak too quickly I sometimes end up not being able to shoot while uncloaked.
I can confirm this as well. After reading your post yesterday, I enabled SLI again last night, and it's now working like it used to.
Thank you, SOE. My game is now running like it did before GU14, which is a relief. Though I'm not sure if I'll try to play it with PhysX until I hear more about the general optimization efforts, but for now, thank you for fixing the problems with SLI! Yet, it makes me wonder if customer service is going to say, "well, we don't support it, but if your performance is improving, that's good. *Wink, wink, nudge, nudge*"
I'd like to add my thanks also, it's been a nightmare these recent weeks but now it's time to move onwards and upwards.
i have to say that the fixes screwed me. Game is unplayable. AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor (8 CPUs), ~4.0GHz 16384MB RAM DirectX 11 GeForce GTX 660
Yeah, thanks for screwing up my game. Now I get stuttering no matter what framerate and I also get an overall lower framerate. You promised better optimisation, but time is running. Intel i5-3750k 3.4GHz AMD HD6950 8GB RAM
Seems like we're both getting those. I don't care if my FPS is lowering but please, do something about those stutters, SOE ! Here's my rig: i7-4770k @ 3.9Ghz GTX 770 Superclocked 8GB Ram
Yes, indeed. When I get an average of 40fps it feels as if it's no more than 20. Cannot fly a damn thing and the movement feels so choppy even while playing as infantry.
Many thanks for the fixes here too. My FPS is back up to previous levels, maybe even better, and CPU utilization is better than it's ever been, although my GPU usage was still below 50% in a Zerg today. Overall it feels much, much smoother and more playable.
So, are we now at the point where we're so happy when nothing's been broken as opposed to advancements being implemented? Pretty sad if you ask me.
