What is [TRAF]? [TRAF] is an outfit (guild / clan) in the game Planetside 2 on the Waterson (previously Jaeger) server. The outfit was formed on November 25th, 2012 by Weatherford and originally operated as the Terran Republic Air Force. The name has since changed to reflect its expanded role on the battlefield. What are operations? Operations are planned outfit events that happen every day at 8pm Eastern, 5pm Pacific. They generally last for two hours. Attendance is not mandatory, but is very rewarding. What are campaigns? Campaigns are planned outfit events that happen twice a week. They are similar to operations but are preceded by warm-up training, start out with a speech, and are lead by our most qualified officers. It's our chance to field our most experienced leaders consistently. Campaigns last as long as they need to to complete an objective. Will I ever be kicked for not playing? You will not be removed from the outfit for not playing. After 30 days of not logging in to Planetside 2, you will be set to inactive status on the website. You will retain your rank and medals. Is Teamspeak required? Yes. We use Teamspeak 3 to effectively communicate and there is little reason to be in an outfit if not to work together. Download Teamspeak Here, or checkout our outfit Quickstart Guide for help. How many members does the outfit have? [TRAF] is not a random invite outfit, but does have hundreds of active members. A current roster can be found here detailing time within the outfit and medals for each member. How do you get promoted? Privates are promoted to PFC once they have completed a training event to satisfactory standards, unlocked a spawn beacon, and AMS sunderer. Our Specialist rank is reserved for our most accomplished soldiers. Higher ranks in [TRAF] are based solely on leadership ability. See Ranks & Promotions page for more detail. Does [TRAF] support a home continent? The game does not cater to the idea of holding one continent in particular at this time. [TRAF] moves to where it is needed, when it is needed. Can I lead squads? Any member of the outfit (even Privates) is encouraged to lead, but will never be forced to. Squads may not exist without a squad leader, so there is much demand and reward for those willing to learn. What are medals? Medals are a way for everyone in the outfit to feel rewarded beyond a rank. They help signify what a player has certed into or accomplished in the game, as well as their past contributions to the outfit. See a list of all medals here. Is Weatherford truly an elitest pig? Yes. How do I join? Anyone may post on our forums and is welcome to play with us, but to advance within the outfit, you must enlist here! Do I have to wear the outfit uniform? No. All uniform camos and decals are completely optional. We will never force you to spend money! See our uniform here. Is [TRAF] a zergfit? Tactical realism? Neither. Our outfit has always been focused on catering to any teamwork oriented players looking for a good community. To accommodate this, we have built a command structure that allows for highly organized competitive play. We realize that not everyone wants to play hardcore 100% of the time, so we also host a platoon for casual play. I joined this outfit yesterday afternoon. Squad leaders have been patient and friendly, and there's great communication and teamwork all around. Come on down and join the fun! -T
I have been with TRAF since 2 weeks after release. OP nights 3-4 times a week, 70-100 people all working together to accomplish the same goal. Most of the time during non OP times we have 2-6 squads running around the clock. Great people, fun times and something for everyone. -Munky
When I downloaded Planetside 2, I never intended for it to be my go-to game. In fact, I didn't think much of it after playing for a few hours. When I finally realized that playing solo was horribly ineffective compared to somewhat organized pub squads, I shifted around random squads for the next few days using the auto-join open squad feature, but communication was held back by laggy in-game voice chat and lack of organization. Finally, and luckily, I found myself in TRAF's Alpha squad. I joined their teamspeak server, and upon entering Alpha squad's channel I was immediately welcomed by a multitude of welcomes and hellos. I found a highly organized and friendly group of skilled players, and played with them for many hours. If you are looking for a Terran Republic outfit, you won't find anyone better than TRAF. I can honestly say they are the only reason I play this game, and the reason I play this game so frequently. There is always at least one or two squads active no matter what time it is, and the tri-weekly operations are not only a blast, but a great way to get certs. There isn't much more you could ask for from an outfit, that TRAF doesn't have. And if you aren't convinced then hop in one of TRAF's squads, join us on teamspeak and experience the most organized and fun outfit in the Terran Republic. -Veygas
I've been in countless Guilds, Clans and Outfits in various games over the years, but none of them has been as awesome and inspiring as TRAF, not to mention Organized, and filled with friendly, helpful people. Always looking forward for another casual Squad, or a badass Ops to tag along with.
Hi I am trying to sign up on your website to join the outfit but I keep getting an error. Where it says enter your level there is no field to enter it and as a result the application keeps failing. Which is disappointing because when I try to ask in game from TRAF people they never respond to /tell's or /yells.
Having worked very closely with this Outfit on multiple ocassions I will say, without a doubt they are one of the PREMIER outfits on this server. Professionalism, competence, and organization are just a few of the words that come to mind when thinking of TRAF. They have a Commander who truly cares about the welfare of those in his Outfit, and more importantly cares about the welfare of the server as a whole. TT6 is proud to work with TRAF, and you would be a fool for not joining! (Well, unless you are joining TT6 Muaahahaha)
I've been with TRAF for several weeks now and being part of a fun-loving, ***-kicking, coordinated outfit every time I login truly makes PS2 a blast to play. They are easy to join and awesome to be a part of. I see no reason to ever leave all the great people here at TRAF, and always look forward to their Operations. Join us today, and kick some butt (while cracking jokes on the galaxy ride over) with the Terran Republic Assault Force!
[EZC] is willing to negotiate the terms of your surrender. We request that you put into place a plan that outlines the immediate dismantling of your outfit and steps you will take to start joining [EZC]. You Vanu scum should be smart enough to figure it out.
@ Goodnight: This is the first I've hear of that issue. I'll revise that field because if you're having problems, many other people are that I've never heard from. Thanks for saying something! The best way to get ahold of anyone in the outfit is through Teamspeak. It's not that we're ignoring you; it's that we're usually busy playing and don't see chat! @ Warjunkie: Thanks so much. That means a lot to me coming from you. So glad to have you on the server aswell! The outfit leader meeting is today at 8PM EST! I'll come bug you in your TS to make sure you remember. Haha. @ Treasonous Rebel Scum: You are the epitome of a fool. #1 for thinking our glorious Republic would ever be dissuaded by mere words, and #2 for referring to us as mere misguided Vanu. When [TRAF] encounters [EZC] with your reavers and tank columns, we know it only takes a couple of MAX's to send you running with tail between your legs. In fact, to my knowledge, the only time your excuse for tactics pull through is when we noose your warpgate on Amerish at Crux Mining Operation. But, I'd never expect more from terrorists. Our operation times are on our website. Prove me wrong! >:]
ooooh, smack talk!!!! me gusta. Ive literally only been playing the game for a week, but was fortunate enough to have been guided to TRAF by somone i had just been running around with. Coming from a organized competetive backround with other games and things outside of games, it was great running with these guys even on my first night, and they have since been responsible for me being up till 4-6am on multiple days, a few of which ive had to be up at 830. I dont know many people, but so far ive liked what ive experienced and look forward to becoming an integral part of their Outfit.
I've been with [TRAF] since a bit after release, and I'm still loving it. If you're looking for good friends to play with, can have fun, and get serious when it's time to take care of business, TRAF is looking for you.
Just joined with these guys a few days ago, and can honestly say it's one of the best clans/guilds/outfits I've been a part of. There is always a squad up to play with and everyone is laid back and just having a fun time. With TRAF I've also experienced a pre-op speech, it changed my life! Join up today!
I joined a few weeks ago. Before I joined, I was doing so well at the game. But after I joined TRAF, I was doing a lot better! I absolutely love the organization and team play! This is a great outfit!
I've been with TRAF for a few weeks now and I really enjoy this outfit, it is big but it isn't a zerg. There is command there is structure but it isn't so rigid you can't have fun. Also Weatherford is really good at getting everyone pumped up for OPs.
