Terran Republic armor

My question is simple really, why did they go from this awesome design





To the current design that imo contains too much red, it went from being a motif to being shoved in our faces.

Don't know how commonly this has been asked but I hope I'm not the only one that strongly dislikes the current look of the Terran Republic infantry.

The VS armor got changed from alpha too, probably has something to do with polygon count or something.

But if we're lucky we might be able to get them put back in as cosmetics.

Personally I love the current TR armour especially since I splashed out on composite upgrade, the only one I find a little strange is the Infiltrator distinct lack of crotch... about as anatomically correct as a ken doll

well since the VS soldiers no longer have genitalia it's not like they have to worry about being uncomfortable or the damage that wearing those very constricting pants would cause

Its alright. The Vanu will impregnate us. But seriously why would you need to reproduce when you have immortality.

It is to help them stand out easier as Terran over confusing them with NC or VS at a glance. Many times in this game you will come across someone who was not spotted and has no triangle above their head. The prominent red that persist with camp and the sillouette is all you have to go by in those cases. NC has the boxy chest and that yellow. VS has the purple and that body suit, TR have the popeye forearms and those shoulder pads splashed with red.

I think the mostly black/dark grey armor was OP at night

I said this earlier. That the color of VS is op. But I got mashed by vanu fanboys saying "uuuuh learn to see, it's not hard, get glasses hurr durr".

Look closely ... they have single color dark grey camo . we dont currently have that . but ye its the camo what makes them look good

That for sure, but really it's just the layout of the suit I like the most it's believable and less bulky looking, The current design has a cartoonish look to it but this version looks like a real professional army, I chose to play as the TR because I like the whole down-to-Earth concept, it's reminiscent of the N7 armor design from Mass Effect which I always liked.

The only shame is that you can't Cert some of the cosmetic stuff eg. armour, Illum helmetts (giggles) and Camo instead of SC only

Hopefully they offer the Alpha uniforms for all factions as they as they all seem to look good, I liked NC's but haven't seen the VS ones.

People have been talking about this since BETA and I personally hate the current armor and helmets we have to wear. The original armor and helmet concepts looked better for every faction and I can't figure out why they did away with them for the new designs they currently have. They honestly look like dog doo doo and I have a feeling they did it so they could get us to buy different armor when it comes out and this is the same issue with the guns. In earlier game screen shots there was a large variety of guns on every soldier, now we have a stream lined version with guns that all look the same except for one or two small features and I think it is so they can have us buy the different ones later.

Looks a bit better. I think the huge glasses or goggles or whatever look stupid without an accompanying face mask. That bothers me more.
