Tank mines look ridiculous now

Ye and unless Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder is at the wheel, everyone will youst steer clear of them...
  2. Chubzdoomer

The Scout Radar idea isn't a bad one, but this current solution is the most effective one in my opinion.
  3. Chubzdoomer

Not if you run into them before you have time to brake! Hence the reason I said they must be where drivers don't expect them to be. If you place them where they can catch drivers off guard, especially as they're traveling at a decent rate of speed, you're still going to get some hits, if not kills with them.

You havent explained anything at all, all you do is prancing around the question while you try to straw man argument your way out of this.

Im patient tho.. So I ask again! What is the purpose of a visible tank mine ingame?

    2-3 sentences will be enough..
  5. ROCKFIISH

I don't think this is gonna change anything at all for me, except maybe people might see the ones I put in towers before an attack starts. But really most people don't even look around a corner before running in on an attack, so I don't think the same people will take the time to look for mines.

    Thank you for your wisdom..

If you direct your shining intellect to my signature, you will see that I'm kinda familiar with tankmines... being the guy who actually made videos about how to use them cca 4 months ago... I knda know my stuff when it comes to tankmines and how to use them thankies!

If you hit brake instead of simply steer away from them, youre doing it wrong..

Again, Im waiting for your answer about the purpose of a visible tankmine.

1 . Because no matter how anyone proves you wrong you keep posting . You waste everyones time posting the same thing and then whine when people dont agree . You must want people to post there for you are a TROL . Posting to get more people to post .
2 . AGAIN If your head was 3 times bigger its easier to see . LIKE THE MINES
3 . Why would you need mine gaurd or to get out when you can see the mines at distance ? Being seen at distance means I can drive around the the mines .

You come on the forums and say Mines were OP . Mines were invisible . When people post and ask are you useing this counter to the mines you say " NO " or you say " I shouldnt have to use that " . Then you continue to say Mines are OP, Mines are Invisible . That is sometheing a child would do . The fact that you keep posting the same stuff over and over with no logical argument against other posts only makes you look bad . You have posted that I spend no time in vehicles . I have 900 plus kills in the Prowler alone . You posted that i didnt know how to use Tank Mines . I have 600 plus Mine kills as a TR . I play ALL 3 factions . You post on here IRL doesnt matter . Quess what it does . Tanks are real . Enemy Fighter Planes are real . Assault rifles are real . and so are TANK MINES . Tank Mines should be invisible not just hard to detect . Now all they are lacking is a " big neon sign ". You post now people will have have to use tatics when placeing mines , place them here place them there . Its clear you wouldnt know a tactic if walked up and bit you on the *** . Just because you can post doesnt make you right .

Can't make a minefield with 3 freaking mines.
I didn't use them on roads before, I still won't use them on roads after this change.

Mines have and always will be satchel charges as long as you can't even carry 5 or more.
The size of them is pretty irrelevant.
  9. TWFTwilight

Ok, I agreed with many balance changes you did SOE, even though some of them were questionable and that you are trying to make the game more enjoyable for most of us.
I didn´t care about the tankmine nerf for stationary vehicle, because I rarely did those suicid runs and prefered the realistic use of such devices. You can still make suicid runs and you decide to make the mines bigger, so it is easier to shoot at them after you put them under a deployed Sundi if you don´t want to waste a sticky nade?!? What kind of logic is that?
You just nerfed the Engi´s who used this mine as a areal denial weapon into uselesness. How are we supposed to lay down defensive mine, or prepare an ambush behind enemy lines, when you can spot them from miles away? There not that many slopes, which are big enough to hide the mines.
Congratz SOE! You just buffed suicid Engineers and let the people who put atleast some thought in the deploy of their mines alone in the rain
I hope you will reverse this change, or give us atleast the possibility to bury the mines in a couple of seconds.

I have mineguard on my sundy. Ran over a mine, it blew me up. Hopefully I can see them now.

I think SOE needs to add more gravel piles and little rocks to the roadways now as cover. I guess I'll be throwing mines only in decently traveled areas with grass tufts to hide them in now.
  12. maniajack

Hooray, just maxed out my utility belt a couple weeks ago. Everything I cert heavy into gets watered down without fail.

It wasn't hard at all to avoid mines before this change if you were smart. Now they're just going to be a slight inconvenience to get out and blow them up. Where did this change even come from? I missed the call for this. Do they think nerfing tank mines will keep vehicles alive or something? Because it's sure as hell not tank mines that made tanks worthless XP coffins in this game. Chalk that up to the AV Turret and the new rocket launchers and the explosions nerf.

Having not really had a problem with tank mines on either side of the isle, let me answer your question for you Dvine:

    Balance.

Right now in the game every type of plantable explosive is visible, as far as I know, and if someone tosses a grenade at you you get a shiny grenade icon bobbing around your screen.

The game pays HUGE dividends to players who are aware - Dots on the mini map for enemies who have fired, listening for foot steps, watching where fire is coming from, tons of audio cues, shadows, etc. The game also punishes players who are not aware. Its the reason people plant explosives in spawn rooms before a base flips - they know people are going to rush in, throw caution to the wind, and get popped. Any of those players could SEE the explosive if they were looking.

If a tanker is going out of his way to look for AT mines then why shouldn't he be able to see them? And he shouldn't be required to equip thermal optics or a mineguard to find them. A lot of times when I am rolling around in a tank I am looking everywhere, watching for ESF's, enemy troops, tanks, and NOT watching the road. This new tank mine isn't going to change that at all. However if I was rolling with my barrel down and straight forward LOOKING for tank mines, which are designed to be visible, I should be able to see one planted in the middle of the road. It shouldn't randomly vanish into the ground or render late.

Are the new ones too big? I don't know, the screen shots don't look bad to me.
  14. Dvine

    Cool story bro..

Except even without mineguard a single AT mine gets 50% of your hp, with lvl 1 mineguard it takes of a whopping 30%.

    I admire your effort tho
  15. Gary

Probably the best addition this patch ;) no more hiding sunderers half way down slopes... Simply place land mines at the top wtch them roll down and get stuck at the wheels of the sunderer and wait for the inevitable Heavy launcher to trigger them :D

VS Proximity mines seem to dissapear through the floor..

  16. MasterD

No seriously, don't use them save your resources for AV Max, C4, or Grenades. Or just continue to use them as suicide pizzas to kill sunderers.
  17. bigtime

They're mines, they should be next to invisible to everyone except an infantrymen with a good eye. Why should they be visible?
  18. Pr0ph3tx

OMG I ******* want that so badly
  19. Pr0ph3tx

Because someone ran over one and started crying that a game actually expects situational awareness from him.
  20. FigM

What I don't understand is why SOE keeps working on stuff the community hasn't asked for?

At least run by your proposals by us before putting them in the game. You are making the game for us, not for yourself.
