Greetings. Noticed this problem with base capture contribution: Any support XP (confirmed with every type) - healing, shield recharge, reviving, repairing, ammo resupply, recon - are not count for Scoreboard (TAB). Sometimes it ends with ridiculous situations when i heal-revive whole fight just to find out that all earned XP was not contributed to my Outfit base capture. Would love to see this fixed, because right now this issue just restricts all dedicated Support players from helping their outfits.
I think that might be intentional, or at least it should be intentional. I really hate it when an outfit decides to cheese resupply XP to cheat their way onto the scoreboard to steal a base capture in smaller fights.
I highly doubt this was intentional - because i can`t see how RECON XP can be cheesed, and recon XP is also affected by this issue. Also - cheese can be easily avoided with diminishing XP values (if player keeps dying in close period of time - revive XP from this player should decrease depends on death frequency). Same with ammo (if player who takes ammo do not deal damage to enemy - further resupply XP from him should be diminished). Heck, same with everything (just tie it to check receiver`s participation in combat).
Diminishing returns on EXP would probably add more unnecessary additional layers of code. The game doesn't really have a way to detect if you're receiving resupplies without dealing damage, for example, plus that's not fair to Engineers, since resupply EXP shortly after a battle ends will be reduced. Same goes for repair EXP; will you get less EXP from repairs if your repair target isn't being shot at or isn't dealing damage?
Game already can detect such things - take a look on "Healing Assist" XP. So i see no issues tie in with calculations of diminishings. This is in any way better than screw all Support players.
Aaand, they are serious. Welp, one less dedicated Medic in the field then. Oh, and since AMS XP is obsolete - i guess no more Sunderers. I seriously question mental state of RPG employee who pushed this "mechanic" Live.
Devs are lazy and just srew it. They dont want to think a little and make something like this - " cheese can be easily avoided with diminishing XP values" and etc. Why you ever defend them ? Maybe you and I ask them first "Why you simply delete mechanic that work for years?"
I'm defending the change because I think it's stupid that an outfit can claim capture credit for a base and hypothetically not even participate in the actual battle. It's not fair to the people actually defending the point and overloading generators to get base capture credit stolen by someone who didn't directly contribute, or by people who arrived late and abused XP gains from resupplies or revives to make it to the top. It was a problem right up until the patch, and it's especially bad in small fights. I can name several times where my outfit has done all the work capturing a base, defending the point, etc but some other outfit claims credit because they farmed easy XP. I don't like having credit go where credit is most certainly not due. And @Dargadon they're not outright removing XP gained from revives and AMS spawns, they're no longer counted when considering base capture credit. If you're mad you can't take credit for a base capture because you can't rely on just reviving and spawning people, good. That Sunderer and Healing Tool of yours are worthless without people to use them.
