Sunderers to trailer " field artillery " Howitzer. Trebuchet. Based off the scorpion launcher's settings. Set & deploy sunderer trailer you wagon'ed over.

I loved that idea too, about one year ago. However there would be some issues against that wonderful gameplay possiblity.
Hit mechanic works only when your target is visible on your rendering distance, that is not the world rendering distance which you can set in settings page. The target rendering distance changes based on player population in the area, to not overload your system.
Even though you shoot at the same position where you had your target in sight, when the system doesn't render it, your shot will not hit anything. I've been shooting for months against long range targets, which means 700-900 meters distant with the hesh lightning main gun, but i've loved the possibility to shoot against 1500+ 2000+ distant targets. It will never be possible because of the main global game system
EDIT: And the map are not designed to make this possible, because of mountains and terraforming

Well; larger scorpion launcher settings' mounted to the ground; that sunderers trailer hitch and move them. Doesn't ness have to be some far as heck artillery. Just something that shoots over Watersons walls with greater sfx and 2 people load.

That's a terrible idea. The existing artillery in the game, the orbital strike and the flail systems already make the gameplay for the rest of the player base worse. Even as a builder artillery isn't really that fun because the base meta Evolves on who can get their flail set up first.

Adding a no-cost artillery weapon to the game on the Sunday would make the flail look pretty tame by comparison and I think it would cause a lot of players to hate it like the nubetoob was hated back in mw2(2009).

Well... I (and many other players) hated Galaxies convoys that bomb and shoot from the sky, with autorepair and additional shields systems, when it doesn't exist a weapon which could counter them and shoot them down. Anyway it doesn't seem that the developers care about it at all... o_O

It's not for anti construction; so has nothing to do with flail / os.

Just a heavier example of Scorpion launcher.
    Trench warfare examples; with sandbags.

Artillery for shooting over Rime, Rink, Watersons walls.
Mounted to the snow hills nearby.
    Brought from a trailer.

    If they want; the Howitzer ammo doesn't even have to do dmg;
may heal allies shield bars instantly; when fired at A point building.

    So support shells.

No Way Jose:p ! not with the new Sundy update:eek: . The Sundy is already too good, doesn't need any more utility. You can always use the bulldog as a makeshift artillery canon(requires practice ) and it even works better with teamwork!

    Planetside 1 did artillery right.

Planetside 1 flail had no defensive weapons, and had low hitpoints, so had to be guarded if it didn't want to shoot and scoot all the time.

The Planetside 1 flail had to load up on ammunition manually and deploy making itself immobile.

A 2nd player had to mark a target with a laze gun, then the 1st player in the flail had to aim at the marked target and manually shoot.

As a shot from the PS1 flail had a large radius and was pretty powerful, to prevent flails from just driving up and camping a door at point blank range, the damage increased the further the shell traveled but was pretty weak at point blank range.

To top it off the artillery shells streaking through the sky was very visible and showed up on the radar for all enemies to see and easily track back to where you were deployed. Aircraft were best at tracking you and hitting you quickly.

PS1 flail shells could travel from one end of the map to another, it didn't have a pathetic short range like the PS2 flail.
