Suicide as a means to prevent kills?

Hey that is better than shooting me down. You get zero xp because I deconstruct my Reaver then jetpack down and land.
  2. Sinoby

I never suicide intentionally or deconstruct the vehicle. If i feel that I'm close to death I try to land. It doesn't work all the time and sometimes I and up all over landscape though :) But several times I managed to finish a tailing ESF with Engy my main gun. Best moments ever. :)

Suicide or not, there is one less hostile aircraft around to bother you or anyone else fighting there. If XP are so important to you go ghostcapping at night or fight at the crown, but don't cry over people bailing out of their aircraft. I am not saying that it's nice to deconstruct things, but it's not something you should waste your time complaining about it when you could be clearing more aircraft and take pressure off of your allies on the ground.

To the A2A rockets: they are A2A rockets. They are supposed to be used to kill hostile aircraft quickly. Get flares if you hate them, but please keep in mind that this is a game about war, and not about sport.

Knife kills require you to be point blank and there's no cheap way to kill my Magrider. I happily accept those deaths.

A2A scum don't deserve anything, I'd happily cert into an ability that gives them 0 xp per kill at the cost of removing 1k of my own :)

I love to shoot at air craft from a distance and then re-deploy. They hover around for SO LONG trying to find you it's ******* hilarious.
  6. Nofreenames

last night i saw alot of air grabbed a mozzie with a2a and didnt even have to shoot! it was fantastic I got a lock they deconned or crashed! 8 sythes down in rapid succession, and one guy who bailed had his sythe crash into a lib and kill it!

keep it up guys you suicides are fantastic, everyone should get a2a missles you dont need to do anything and it clears skies! hate the air guys podding you? get a2a!

The people who insist dogfighting is the way to go with the rotary cannon and such make me laugh. Rotary cannon in this game is for finishing off enemy aircraft after you've damaged them with missiles, or for shooting at ranges outside of your missile range. There is no such thing as dogfighting in this game.

I'm really not sure where the myth came from. There can not possibly be any dogfighting in a game where the planes can stop almost on a dime, spin in mid air and accelerate from that point almost instantaneously. That's not dogfighting. I would put money down that the majority of people who complain about lack of dogfighting are exactly the people who, when they get a plane on their tail, will stop and spin in mid air doing a 360 until they find enemy plane, then fire. If you -don't- do that, you're either an idiot or not looking for a fight.

Dogfighting exists because planes -can't- do that, you have to chase and maneuver. In this game those actions aren't necessary for 90% of the fighting. I really wish I had a dollar for every person who, when I've pulled out behind them and start to shoot with the rotary, would stop all meaningful acceleration and just spin until they found me and then started shooting back. Then it either devolves into both of us spinning in circles like a snake eating it's tail, flying within a few feet of eachother until one of us gets the shots off or another plane comes into the fight, or someone gets fed up and flies off.

A2A missles are the only thing keeping ESF vs ESF fights from becoming absolutely embarassing in this game. For any real dogfighting to occur they would need to severely reduce ESF ability to hover in any form.

In my experience Scythes are atrociously guilty of this, probably due to being the best at stopping on a dime and hovering, but I have seen all varieties of aircraft do this in this game. For the record, I fly a Mosquito.

TL;DR: If a fight between two ESFs is occuring within spitting distance of one another, that's not a dogfight. That's two hoverplanes trying to shoot at eachother. In reality, ESFs have -way- more in common with Helicopters than fighters anyways. I would be much more in favor of replacing all the "jets" in this game with gunships and helicopter variants that behave in a similar fashion, as that would make far more sense.

I eject to my death rather then give the enemy XP for my death. While I am falling, i'll shoot at em just so they can look in my direction. Seeing me flip them the bird.

    in deed it does

im sorry you want to abuse stuff on me and get exp well this is what i do

what a liberator is out of reach and is snagging my ground vehicle ? deconstruct and suicide
im sorry what im in my ESF and some noob locks onto me and i cant see him ? deconstruct in mid air the fall will suicide you
im sorry your sniping with with a LMG about to kill me ? quickly /suicide
im sorry you want exp from me ? not gonna happen unless you can kill me legitly

before your vehicle is about to blow quickly deconstruct it,i do this all the time to prevent bads from cheating my vehicle into destruction.funny when ESF's try rocket poding my sunderer, quickly park and deconstruct .i. you getting no exp from me

plenty of ways to get around the bads abusing bugs exploits and overpowerd equipment/vehicles.even the hackers can be killed other the the ones abusing the god mod bug and things alike.

What do you consider a "legit" kill then? An ESF flying in front of your face so you definitely notice him before he fights you?
Yours is the most riddiculous attitude in a game that I've seen in a while. Calling people noobs for essentially playing the game how it's supposed to be played. You act like everyone who certed stuff that can kill you faster is a hacker. Go play Farming Simulator 2013 or something.

i can't believe that a pilot with rockets pod can talk about "legit kill"...
  13. Tasogie

Make sure you kill them before they can. Suiside is just a "**** you" move. It's one I have no issue with an its been round well over 15 years. It's really a non issue.
  14. Silver Pepper

Emergency land, survive initial hitting the ground. Then get hit by the flying wreckage of my aircraft and thrown 500m and splatter.
  15. TRSoltech

I find all the talk about people being killed by A2A missiles funny. The only reason these people are mad is cause they use their rocket pods mainly to farm infantry kills and then get taken out by an Air superiority fighter. I use a combination of A2A missiles and my Guns to take out enemy aircraft. Why? Because I don't have time to bother with chasing down every enemy ESF when my real goal is eliminate the enemy liberators. So while you are spamming rockets at my infantry, Im going to gun you, and when you go to fly away, you are getting A2A so I can immediately turn on your liberators.

Simple truth: the only reason most people don't have A2A is cause they are ground farming with the fighters.

Yeah, outsniping a sniper with lmg is indeed skilles. Especially when that sniper fails to hit you once, while you have to land ~7 bullets on him...
  17. Shadowhunter1

is your ego that fragile that you cannot accept being killed by someone better than you that you find suicide more satisfying?
i think you need to stop trying to fly if it is true.
  18. Tasogie

Not really true, myself, I have Air to Air missiles , but I never use them because I am "trying" to be ground attack only to help kill VS tanks.
  19. TRSoltech

On a side note, I find the lack of kill tagging in this game to be quite sad. I myself only bail if I have slowed down enough to actual survive the fall. I have crashed a few times trying to make some sort of daring escape and I get irritated that it says I commited suicide and I don't even have the pleasure of knowing which enemy just caused me to die.
  20. Stampz

If you have problems avoiding, countering, or dodging A2A missiles, you can't consider yourself a skilled pilot. It's not hard, flare the first lock-on, or lead the missile into some kind of terrain. Turn around and get in close so the guy can't lock onto to you. Use your dogfighting skills to outmaneuver him and shoot him down with your gun. Also, the initiator always starts with the advantage. It doesn't matter what weapon he uses. Heck I prefer if they lead off with A2A, at least there's some warning. The good pilots will drop most of your HP with their gun before you even know what hit you.

As for people bailing/crashing to deny XP, it doesn't matter to me. I do the same thing sometimes, other times I'll let them have the kill; depends on my mood at the time.
