Strikers need lock on back for the Turrets

Must be the reason why I never die to a lancer on my engie turret. --- My mistake. Carry On.
  2. Stormlight666

The Annihilator needs it back more than the Striker does. But I'd be happier with it being able to lock onto mana turrets more than base turrets (like you used to be able to do).

Guess the lack of skill is that you can't find your default launcher to destroy it with FIRST.

Plus even if it had lock-on, the programming would be back to normal crap where it locks onto the base of the turret where damage doesn't register because it hits the tower first.
  4. KAHR-Alpha

    This had been fixed.

So you're annoyed at some VS that managed to hit you? Manual aim allows for such feat. And believe it or not, the lancer is one of very few weapons in this game that scales with player skill.
If you're s*it with the lancer, you won't really do much, and are better off with a standard lock-on. If you're really good, you can hit just about anything.

Is it so unfair to reward good players?

You can tell the bad story and peasants in this thread who haven't used the striker at all. The striker is just as useless on its own as any other launcher in the game. What you guys are all crying OP about is actually teamwork and coordination.

The grounder and annihilator will tear the sky to pieces when it's used by every heavy in a platoon too, but they aren't bugged out pieces of crap. The strikers bugs, poor tracking system and inability to target turrets need to be revisited.

If every TR soldier on the field right now dumped their strikers and started using nothing but Grounders you would all be back here in a heartbeat to the forums b*tching and crying about how OP teamwork and tactics are. Except it would be using Grounders as the whipping boy instead.
  7. Flag

Difference is not everyone would use a grounder. Some would use the AV launcher(lets pretend the annihilator doesn't exist), so at least you(tr) would have to pick one or the other. Which would be an improvement on how it is today where the majority of TR can lock onto any vehicle without really having to pick one or the other.

Edit: And even if you want to include the annihilator, at least it doesn't hit for very much.

Everyone was using the grounder before the annihilator just like everyone was using the annihilator before the striker. The OP element has never had anything to do with the launcher, its always been coordinated use that makes the lone wolf bads go insane.

They should just devote the time to fixing all the problems with lock-ons, and get them right: (1) the programming that has the missile fly to where the plane WILL BE on impact, (2) Allow them to lock-on to base turrets, (3) Allow them to lock onto Engineer Mana Turrets again (or at lest give the job to a specific launcher - ie: the ground lock-on and the Annihilator (4) Allow a fraction of a second delay before losing a lock-on attempt because a small branch on a tree hit your reticle on a swing-by.

    I loved the AT4 in BC2.
But I'm not so sure about this, how the hell will MBTs even begin to dodge your shots?
  12. MetalGrave

I say a slight dmg reduction or a fire delay/both cause of the super spam. I would like to see it be made pump action with no dmg reduction. the pumping action only done when unscoping, should throw the aim off of the current missle inflight
  13. FlayvorOfEvil

Does a Lancer have the capability to 1 shot engineer turrets? Just wondering.
  14. OrbitalNZ

I just assumed that it was just easier for SOE to remove the ability to target a turret, than it was to fix the bug that lock on missiles would always target the turret base and miss the actual turret.

Seemed like a lazy coop out when it was removed in with the last patch.

TBH I wish the striker was just a mobile laser guided missile.
  15. Laraso

I think you've forgotten that the Striker isn't the only launcher you can use. Switch to dumbfires if turrets are causing you trouble.
  16. Sharmanti

Um.. well.. I still don't know what you mean by this.

5 rockets, if all hit, sure..

40% will probably miss. Flares will still counter them etc etc.

The thing with the striker is that everyone has it. Everyone. So everyone can shoot at aircraft. That's why you die. Not because a single deathmachine striker sits and instagibbs every aircraft in range.

Skilled lancers would be able to do a lot more damage in those numbers. Litterary zapping **** outta the sky
  17. Flag

Nope. Think it can 2-shot it with some charged shots though.
  18. gudman591

No because Striker's OP, everything about TR is OP, TR itself is OP

  19. Flag

No, the striker is just too easy to use. That makes it overly abundant, not op.
  20. ArcKnight

last time I checked lock-on rockets always hit the platform not the turret it self
