Stop putting in stuff from PS1 that nobody wants.

Pretty much and they were hard as heck to aim. I was CR4 to CR5 for 5yrs but from day 1 of getting OS ability you knew you had to have good sense to use it. And get ready for the hate if you accidentally tk'd hahaha "noob CR5 ..noob!!!"

    To address your complaints:

Rocket launchers are hardly "sniper" weapons and if you're referring to the Phoenix, it doesn't even kill in one hit and leaves the user incredibly vulnerable.

It is impossible to be killed by an "invisible guy with a SMG" because Infs must uncloak to fire.

Orbital strike isn't even implemented in the game right now nor has it been publicly tested so you have zero basis for a complaint about it.

I kind of doubt that low game pop on certain servers is due to 1/3 of players being "lost in the caves" as you put it.

As for "giant mechs" the devs have already stated very matter of factly that BFRs will not be making a comeback in PS2.

PS1 was not a financial success for SOE. Many players who left PS1 felt indifference toward some of the features (Caves for one, BFRs another, and OS too common by the end of the game)

PS2 will benefit from poaching players from other games (CoD, BF, Warframe, Firefall, Defiance, you name it), which means it needs an unique identity that will appeal to the broadest audience.

SOE needs to make an innovative product instead of out-source design to the playerbase. Make something cool (the new Lib is a great example) and people will join up. Using stale ideas from a previous game is not a ticket for success - sometimes customer can only look at the rear view mirror and say "we missed the 24hr diner, we will surely starve to death", even if the coolest restaurant is coming up on the freeway - players should not be in the driver seat - that is SOE's spot.

Stop suggestion you know what everybody wants.
  11. Biytor

So many people had them. It may have been one for "that guy" but it turned into an unending barrage before the game shut down. OS is fine when only a few have it, not when everyone has it, like it's going t be in PS2

I would not be so sure on that. First of all, nobody had any idea how successful the game would or should be when it got released, because it was the only one of it's kind. Second, I know guys who paid full subscription for like 8 years for a game that basically didn't have any support. There were at least some 1k loyal players there up the very end and some of them have paid between 800-1k $$ for the subscription over the years. Overall, the game made a couple of millions for sure.

Last but not least the game was quite popular until SoE released the first - terrible - expansion. That was the moment when the subscription numbers took a dive. Then the game recovered over the years until they released the second - terrible - expansion which pretty much killed the playerbase. Still some guys kept playing it for like 5 hours every day for 3-4 years to come. The PS2 Beta was obviously the final nail in the coffin and a shock to every PS1 veteran at the same time.
