Stop complaining about the Mission overaly; it's actually great and here is why

So, you might have noticed that the mission overlay hides the control point status.
No, it's not a bug, Malorn himself confirmed it was intentional
And that pissed a lot of people because they couldn't see the point flipping back and forth...
    To them I say:
Stop whining. It's a good feature

Before, everybody could notice the point flipping. Now, you need a Control Point Operator™ to relay the status of the control point to the team. That's great because:
    • It promotes team coordination and voice coms
    • Relaying intelligence becomes a focal point of gameplay
    • It creates a very specialized role of CP-Watchdog
This change is obviously oriented towards teamplay.
By intentionally masking this information on the interface, SOE is attempting to create a more tactical experience, oriented towards collective, intelligent play that rewards coordination and punishes lonewolves. This is the intended purpose of the glorious, deeply complex MISSION SYSTEM !

So how do you know when there is a cloaked Infiltrator on the point? (I guess I'll find out later tonight?)

You need to designate a Lasher specialist™ to scan every corner of the room.

    It's like spychecking in TF2 !

**** that, hiding info that we have had access to since the game launched is not a good feature.

It is possible that SOE gave to many players, to many crutches, and that isolated events, in which some of the most fundamental thought process' must occur OUTSIDE of a silly little bandaid, may be a good thing for the game.

Its different, I should be able to turn it off, I don't like it.

I would think this post is sarcasm without a doubt, but the direction much of the planetside community takes is making think that there is a chance this is real.

I would say I agree with you but there have been so many things in since launch that have been adjusted or nerfed in to the ground so this is a moot point...

Well, since it only 'flares up' here and there, and not every time, I'll assume it's a bug. I still see the cap bar at least half of the time.

And we do need a way to turn this mission thing off. It's just taking up screen space for me. I don't give a hoot what it says unless there's an xp bonus involved.

    Called it!

Hiding info from attackers - not defenders - should be a defensive road SOE needs to go down.
  16. Dante02

    You did. Sigh.

I came in here ready with hot retorts on my lips.
    I leave in disappointment. :(

Coming with the next patch, the in-game map will be dynamically adjusted for better readability.
This will decrease confusion among new players and increase tactical depth by letting squad leaders focus on a single objective rather than processing useless ammounts of information.

Here is a mockup from PTS:

Do we all have to UPGRADE NOW to unlock this new Control Point Operator class?
