still online after 3 days of stat padding

More likely its just some uber-geek with enough money for 3 planetside capable machines
  2. LibertyRevolution

He is not trying to pad his stats, this is pure cert farm.

The guy is running scripted bots to farm certs.
Botting is bannable, running mulitkey macro scripts is bannable, so doing both at same time.. Yes this bannable.

Someone send in a support ticket.

Actually this hurts SOEs business. Doing this sort of thing gives easy certs and can then buy items that might be paid for. SOE needs to make money or the game dies, therefore it hurts everyone.

LMAO! I ran into some **** like this on Amerish way on the bottom corner of the map. Pretty sure it was some dudes running a macro. Every so seconds one char would shoot. The other char would die and a medic would do the revive. So we just bombed them all with bulldogs. So pathetic. Could never stoop to that level.

Again, these people are not making certs faster than any one else who is actually just playing the game. The only person who is making decent certs is the medic rezzing the guy, and even then a medic in a large 48/48+ fight is probably rezzing people just as fast, not including rez grenades.

Stopped reading right here. This has got to be one of the most useless, abrasive, and ignorant things that could be said in a forum on any topic.

It's obvious that someone cares if posts were made and responded to regarding it. So, Captain Apathy, mind that fact and realize the world has more opinions than yours in it.

Sad bit of congnitive dissonance found in this forum:

People's self-worth, value of posts, and even personal lives are often judged by their in-game stats (already stupid).

Yet here, stat-padding is fine and hurts nobody, even if it means that lazy and selfish people get a phony boost to perceived self-worth, value of posts, and even their personal lives, according to a fair number in this thread.
  10. Raraldor

Whenever I see things like this I just lol at a few guys I know who were all banned for three days (it was their first offense) because they tried to get the snow balla title by going on alts and taking turns getting 60 kills with the snowball gun while the third guy ressed the one that died. They were banned the next day lol, so SOE is generally on their ****. Things just slip through the cracks sometimes lol, it's okay to be annoyed but don't get up in arms over it.
  11. Latrodectus

So then you're saying that stat padders who sit in the middle of nowhere, far from any fight, some how have an impact on a game where stats like KDR equate to nothing? The only people who could possibly care about this are players who care about their legitimate KDR, which is a joke in itself. Like if those people started leaving the game because of instances like this, I really wouldn't bat an eye, as all they're doing is sitting inside of a spawn room accomplishing nothing anyway; or lone-wolfing in an ESF and then bailing out as a Light Assault and redeploying before some one kills them.
  12. Thostbog

I cannot believe some people on this forum see nothing wrong in automated bots running day after day to gather certs for the toons, most likely to sell them later.

Why do some people still think this is about KDR...

Without any boosts ressing is about 75xp i think.
lets say he gets ~30 resurrects every minute and lets assume he does this for a full 24hours.
Thats almost 13000 certs every day. Or 51000 certs with a sub bonus and a boost... (assuming my stupid math is correct)

I dont think KDR is what he is padding...
  14. Borusa

Again, this guy who does the killing, made about 1500 certs a day. Most likely without any boosts.
Currently they're sitting on the 15th and 16th places on the leaderboard, with about 8-10 hours spent ingame, even though they've been interrupted several times now - since these topics made them pretty infamous.
You will probably argue, that there are 14 players on the whole server who made more certs that day! One or two even made around 2k certs in 13 hours!
So what? This guy can just run his script for another 10 hours and it'll be just as effective as the best farmers on Miller.

In the end it doesn't really matter though, since this type of cheating is easily spotted by just looking at the leaderboard for 2 minutes. What worries me more is they didn't manage to get rid of the guy yet, despite the numerous reports too.

I feel bad for people that support the game with a subscription or buying boosts. :(
    [/quote]

This, and SOE's admittedly feeble efforts at curbing cheating are what motivated me to cancel and stop buying boosts. PS2 is just a casual game now, as opposed to the time and money sink it was before.
  16. Scatterblak

Heh. Keep telling yourself that *anyone* anywhere ever reads those. Funny stuff!
  17. Axehilt

Nobody's expecting that they read the text, only that when individuals are repeatedly reported that they end up getting reviewed and kicked/banned if appropriate.
  18. Scatterblak

Doubtful. By 'reviewed', I'd expect someone would eventually read the text, which is hopefully parked in a convenient table in the database? It would be a full time job to review even just the ones that exceed a defined threshold or disparate reports. If people get banned, it's because some admin saw them do something, or because their transgression was so great that it rose to the top of someone's 'to do' list - probably a couple of the developers hear 'hey, don't forget to pull the top couple of guys out of the [Reported] table and take a look at their logs before you go home'.

It's not like they're putting any time into it. Or, at least, they're certainly not seeing any success.
  19. Axehilt

Doubtful? So you expect the text gets read every time? Riiiight.

The reality is the CS rep probably just looks at the player name and goes to observe that player. More likely is a system where heavily reported players bubble to the top of the CS list and get checked first, while lesser-reported players get checked last (or possibly not at all.) In cases where the CS rep is accidentally not bored or needs help figuring out why someone thinks a player is cheating, they may read the text, but I seriously doubt they're poring over the text of each player report.
