Seriously, I love this game and i've loved it for thousands hours... But in the last few days, it's been a complete purge to play on Cobalt. The population balance problem needs to be adressed, as everyday, the Vanus are overpoping the server, and crushing any possible resistance. Other than that, I've noticed over the last few months, that more and more players simply switch characters at the begining of an alert. Which leads to terrible problems: Pro players are on NC or TR --> They help one faction to get all the necessary territories to trigger an alert --> They switch to their main account (Often a VANU one) --> They conquer back thoose same territories with almost no resistance because of the imbalance of pop... When an alert triggers, it would be wise to lock for let's say 40 minutes any character that are currently playing (IE preventing people from switching), and to prevent people for joining on a continent is there is a population imbalance Also, NSO premium players being able to choose which faction they're gonna side with, is litterally pay to win PLEASE FIX OUR GAME. WE LOVE IT, BUT IT'S DRIVING US INSANE
I almost never play on Cobalt due to my connection, but I feel very threatened by Overpop and other problems. At least this game is only viable if conscientious players play conscientiously. If you play in such a way that you switch camps as soon as an alert sounds, there is no doubt that the game will not be played in a quirky way. In my case, I almost agree with you, but I think that when the alert is triggered, there will be players who will switch before that. Personally, I think it would be more reliable to only allow a character to log in as a single character once they enter a continent until the continent switches over. At least this game is mostly from a light user perspective, even though it is a competitive game. I strongly believe that the game is very vulnerable and needs to be rethought for things that are not impossible when you get right down to it. The game is free at best, but there are too many situations that are extremely bad due to poor design.
