Something I don't understand about NC MAX's

    Why can't the devs just increase their damage at range but reduce their damage at close quarters?

    So they don't instagib people within 10m, but can be effective at longer ranges


    Then both sides would be happy surely? No more NC MAX utter dominance in close quarters, and the NC can be more effective at range

    Just tighten up the spread a little bit and reduce the damage at close quaters, and increase ranged damage.

    I would definatley use my max more if they gave us a non-shotgun option besides anti-vehicle explosives. I have all max weapons unlocked for NC, they all have their purpose, but if I run into an enemy max at a range longer than 30m or so, i might as well just prepare to respawn.

    Although I've never tried the slugs, are they as effective at range as regular shotty slugs?

    Buff slug accuracy while moving. If NC were given their PS1 max this wouldn't be an issue.

    Ive heard that they are pretty terrible, I don't think NC need new MAX weapons, only a change to their current ones.

    If they did get ranged guns then TR/VS would need close quarter shotguns to compensate, and I don't like the idea of ZOE with shotguns

    Range is the VS thing, the NC max is fine in CQC where it still has a slight edge over NC and TR maxs. Thats the way it should stay.

    At the least offer them reciprocal weapons, one that does little damage up close and greater damage at range and the other that does better CQC damage than range damage.

    We would not like it. :p We have got used to be able to kill with 2 shots. We don't want our shotguns even more weaker than hand held versions. It could have worked it if was that way from the beginning.

    I wish to see people's faces when they realize their MAX gauss saws only shoot like 4 bullets per second and have a magazine of like 40.

    Always thought of the MAX as a highly situational class akin to a MMORPG tank class.
    Great at close distances, can't do much at range except be a meat shield for those that can.

    Again the problem with the MAX's, which has been brought up numerous times, is that the NC MAX is the only MAX who's weapons are situational to only one roll per weapon where as the other MAX's, VS and TR, can use one weapon to do anything.

    This is true, however the NC max excels in close range so heavily that I would argue it is on par with the other maxes

    How is it on par when the NC MAX can only kill at close range where as the other MAX's can kill at close, medium and long range while only using one weapon?

    That's pretty much what they did in the last update that nerfed it. Direct damage was lowered, but the damage falloff range (both start and finish) were increased.

    The problem I personally see with the NC MAX is mainly it's ammo pool. With the TR and VS anti-infantry weapons, they have superior ammo pools to their carbines (let's face it, they're basically dual wielding carbines with huge magazines, not high capacity LMGs).

    When you look at the NC AI weapons, they pretty much have identical magazine sizes to their smaller counterparts. (apart from the Mattock, which is for the most part a non-burst JackHammer with a lower magazine size.)

    Aside from needing larger magazines (with their damage per shot exactly how they are now), they need a bit more accuracy with slugs. Also, we need the weapon description to actually show it's damage for slugs when you equip them. o_O

    Because then there are no strengths and weaknesses, and every faction's equipment plays the same.

    How about just enjoying the challenge of adapting to your faction's strenghts and weaknesses, and overcoming, rather than asking SOE to take all the fun out of the game?

    Its probably about as useful overall.We can crash points inside better than TR or VS, but we are useless outside.


    How the mattocks are about as long range as a shotgun can plausibly get.
