I demand a rollback, this is ridiculous.

So is this a bad time to ask for refunds on forward grips on sniper rifles?

The only solution at this point is a rollback.

It should have been SC refunds, plain and simple. There is a growing outrage on the servers now that people are noticing the certs on the leaderboards. This solution is a slap in the face to the rest of the players who earned their certs.

To start, 2 certs per 1 SC was already a fairly bogus conversion. We're talking people paying 700 SC for a 1000 cert item and getting 1400 out of it. I'm trying to figure out how I even got 6000, when my only repeats as far as I could gather were annihilators for each of my three toons. That's 4200 if we're counting all three annihilators.

I'd suggest SOE should start selling 1000 certs at 700 SC a pop to calm the waters, but then the freebies would really be upset. Not that players shouldn't by default start with a bucket of certs to begin with, we're late enough in the game's life cycle that new players could stand to have a little getting started booster.

However, SOE DOES have access to numbers we don't, and apparently figured there were few enough of us paying players that a bucket of bonus certs in a refund wouldn't be game breaking. I wonder what that REALLY says about the profits this game is making.

I'm surprised this situation hasn't hit any news sites from what I can tell. I'd have thought they would love this controversial move.

Yep, rollback. Because of bugs, some people were given obscene amounts of cert points (160k? lol) without having spent any SC on duplicates.

Hey guys, here's some food for thought. The average 700 SC weapon is the equivalent of 1000 certs. 1000 SC is 10 dollars, so we can figure that 1000 certification points are worth about 7 dollars by this metric. So we have some players who were given around 107,184 certification points with this reimbursement. So let's say that 107,184 certification points divided by 1000 is 107.184. Then lets take that number and multiply it by 7, because 1000 certs are worth about 7 dollars.

Oh, that's 750 dollars worth of certifications that SOE has accidentally given away to dozens of people, if not more.

SOE, I have invested a lot of time and money into this game. You simply cannot let a mistake like this slide on by. It's not even remotely fair that players are receiving thousands of certs (remember: 1000 certs = $7 effectively) for free.

You will completely lose your paying customer's trust if you do not roll this unconscionably stupid mistake back immediately. How could you have such a flagrant disregard for our business? I expect nothing less than a full refund for my station cash purchases if this is not resolved.

For reference, there are BR1 players who received 100k certs ($700) for free. Images below courtesy of my friend omuerteSA.

To the players reading this, make sure these images get spread around. Everyone needs to understand the gravity of this situation. For reference, I have earned ~25,000 certs in ~250 hours of gameplay.

I freely admit that I have changed positions upon learning that the reimbursement system was bugged (completely? lol), and was giving away far too many certs than intended. I still, however, do not have a problem with cert reimbursement as a means to compensate players for duplicate purchases.

Great to see players that put in days of game time that were first in the ranks for certs only to be knocked down to second or third place by a player with a fraction of the time. We have a new number on on Connery. 190114 certs and just over a day of time.

    Fantastic.

There is winning the lottery and there is WTF.

No problem man. I agree, I have no problem with reimbursement as well, but this is ridiculous.

Those pictures of leaderboards are highly bugged. The cert amounts MIGHT be right, but the BR levels and everything else is way off. Just looking at through the players beta you can see that.

I saw a BR 0 that had 60900 certs with only 3 minutes played, no kills, no deaths, nothing. Later when I checked again, I saw this person's alts (the same name, but with the related faction attached to it) and they each had roughly 60k certs. I don't believe the leaderboard is off, in this regard.

NOTHING should have been done for players that were effected AFTER the "compensation" was announced.

I doubt if ill be playing on anything other than the test server until a rollback is announced and they find a different way to go about compensation.

Compensation SHOULD be done. But not for players who were stupid and/or impatient and bought the same item twice AFTER compensation was announced.
