I think we can all agree that SOE can't really do performance patches for this game. They spent months praising the upcoming "wonder patch" that would fix all our problems, getting us all hyped to see if our performance issues (which have been there since Beta btw, so gg there) would finally vanish, and we would be able to play as intended: smooth, stutter-free and enjoyably. What we got was a buggy mess that had clearly never seen a Quality Assurance test. Seriously, how do you NOT NOTICE that the tanks arent firing anything!? But I digress. The patch was full of great ideas and overall Good Features. The watchtower redesigns are a firm favourite of mine, for example. However, its fairly obvious that the "performance improvements" were anything but. Bar the lucky few, vast numbers of the playerbase are reporting graphical lag, huge FPS drops, and the kind of glitches that force large swathes of the playerbase (who perhaps dont own uber-rigs) to find another game. So the answer is simple. If performance was better BEFORE the patch, remove the "performance" parts of the patch. Simples.
Performance is better than ever for me since they fixed the stuttering ^^ But yeah, playing with stuttering sucks, I hope they fix yours soon.
I have a high end machine. Original performance patch ruined my FPS and caused the stutter. I logged in last night and the stutter was gone, but my FPS was still terrible. Noticed a tweet by Higby about deleting your useroptions.ini file. Tried that. My FPS doubled. So yeah, try that.
