SOE Controlling our resources by not allowing us to spend it, but AUTO RESUPPLY..PAY 2 WIN much?....

    SRSLY this is pathetic.

No longer can we stock pile on what we want...but now SOE tells us how much we could have.

    NO MORE CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason being that they don't want Free 2 Play players to stockpile infantry consumables...

Instead they want free 2 play players to suffer, since when they get a vehicle or aircraft, they will get rid off their nanites.....So when the person tries to get infantry consumables, guess what? They can't because they don't have enough Nanites.

The only way around this, is to become a paying member/buy boost, then you will get 100%+ and have to worry less about running out resources.

I thought the old system was Pay 2 win.....this is Pay 2 win to a whole other level.

I know people are going to claim the game is more fair now because they got rid off Timers etc.

Fact is their is only one way to make this game Fair and not Pay 2 Win...Make everybody get the same resources...no boost or anything.

Of course tho judging by this patch, SOE cares about money way too much.

It's not pay to win per se, but I do agree that you need to focus harder on balancing pay vs free players in a FPS style game. In other games, like standard PVE MMO's it's easier to be okay with the big boosts, but you're literally giving F2P players a direct disadvantage with the new nanites system.

This is comning from sdomeone who has sank 400+ dollars on Planetside 2, but doesn't have the funds to sub right now, and is STILL treated like a second class citizen.

I don't even pay much, and I love this change.

If you're a dedicated pilot/tanker, now you can basically constantly pull vehicles.

Exactly. I have the funds to sub but why should I? I've spent a fair bit on this game already as well. I'm not saying I'm against there being a subscription option altogether but I don't think players who haven't made purchases and players who have made purchases should all be lumped in together as "F2P peasants."

Heres the thing, Im not a dedicated pilot or tanker.

Im an Infantry player who occasionally likes to get a tank or plane.....guess what after I use a tank or plane, I usually have no more nanites for consumables.
  10. LT_Latency

Huh?? how long do you last 1 min. By the time you blow up you should be pretty well recharged.

It only takes 9 mins to make 450 points back. So even if you only last 4 mins you only lost 250 points

As someone who doesn't have resource boosts of any kind, so far I didn't have any problem with my consumables (and I'm one of those that eat medikits like candy)

The resources are raining from the sky yes, But only if you are working on one form of combat. The new system punishes you if you try to go more than one role in a short amount of time. For example, I can't pull a scythe and then go out as a heavy and do a sunderer killing spree with my C4 because most of my resources were fried on the ESF.

The OP is used to the old system, You could pull and ESF, Lose it, Pull a tank, Lose it, Pull a max, Lose it. With no wait time between the the 3 combat forms.

Now, All three combat forms use the same resource, So you have to use them sparingly and can't just dump them with no consequences.

Back on the old system, I would pull a gal just to fly to a point, Then toss it without a care in the world. I can't do that now because the resources that gal took also took from my infantry resource pool, which effectively lowers my lethality. The new system forces you to be more resource cautious, a very real aspect of any war. Players do not like that they can't just burn resources as they could with the old system.

This post hits the nail on the head.
You get 50 nanites a minute. Trust me, that's very generous. In other words, that's A LOT.
You must seriously not last long in a vehicle at all if you ever happen to be complaining about this.

Nanites regenerate so fast that there are only 2 possibilities that you are resource deprived:
-Your vehicle spawn is basically camped, and whenever you pull a vehicle you get absolutely destroyed in less then a minute. And yet, you keep pulling the vehicle anyway, and feeding certs to the enemy.
In that case you really should find another way to uncamp it, instead of blindly pulling over and over again.

-You suck at the vehicle so much (no offence) that you get it destroyed very quickly to whatever way it is that gets it destroyed quickly, such as trying to take on a bunch of Skyguards head on with your ESF.

    Makes no difference lol.

I on average survive more than 4 minutes per death.
I gain 200 resources in that time.

That is good enough to give me a fully equiped character for the next spawn.

So in other words, even if you have 0 resources all you need to do is play for a couple of minutes before you get your resources back.
It's actually faster than the old resource system.

With the old resource system you got about 150 resources per 5 minutes (all 3 combined on Indar/Hossin)
With this you get about 250 resources per 5 minutes.

The only benefits of the old system was that it allowed you to store things, this one doesn't.

How is this new system more pay to win than the old system???
On the old system you got resources based on XP made by fighting in specific hexes, along with the timed drops.
Since XP is boosted by membership/boost, members made more resources by killing things than by timed drops.

This new system is 50 resources minute flat rate.
So to fill it 0-750 takes 15mins as F2P.
For a full member, it takes 10mins instead of 15 mins.
A F2P can make a MBT in 9mins, an full member it takes 6mins, 3mins difference... OMG SOOO PAY TO WIN!!
So F2P have to wait 3mins longer to make a MBT, for all this game offers to a F2P, I think they can wait.

I love this change, it moves the game away from jack of all trades, more focusing towards specialization.

Now you have to think about what you want to spend resources on, if you want to be jack of all trades.
If you want to play one playstyle, this new system lets you spam 1 style like crazy now.

The only people hurt by this system are the ones that play ESF→MBT→MAX→ESF→MBT→MAX.
I will not shed a tear that you can no longer continually rotate between pieces of farming equipment.

This is just an intermediate stage of the resource vamp that we (forumside) have been requesting ever since beta.
This new system has it's advantages and disadvantages. You need to watch your expenses a bit more then pay 2 play players.
The system will be connected to bases and a base stock pile so bases can also be captured by cutting them off from their supply. And the more players in a base the faster the drain will be on the base so the faster it will run dry. That will bring both a meta and a direct nerf to zerging. Since zerging then requires ANT vehicles coming with new supplies regularly to fuel the zerg.

Apart from that, if you're a free to play player I don't see why you feel you're entitled to anything really. The fact you can get most things ingame relatively easy without ever paying for the game is generous enough of SOE. They also have expenses, and a game like PS2 has quite high expenses to keep it going.
Pay 2 play players invest the money into the game to keep it going, free to play players get paid for by pay to play players.
However, I do think that this game should have something like the 'preferred status' like SW:ToR. Giving a bit more xp/resource gain if you've invested a certain amount of money into the game.

I still dont understand why people keeps talking about PS2 as if it is a 1v1 game. You are part of a team. There is probably the same proportion of paying members in your team as in the ither team. So neither team have an advantage due to paying members. So, this is definitely not Pay to Win.

And I love decisions to have consecuences. That makes a game interesting.
