So why did the Halberd price go up?

I'm not a fan of them making changes like this without an announcement beforehand. It doesn't surprise me though considering SOE's track record. It would be nice if they considered how reception will be for some of the moves they make instead of saying "screw it they'll continue to play". Many will for a while, until something better comes along. If you want loyalty please work on customer relations.

It's fine, not like no one had em already..

Same thing with the AP vehicle guns as well... though they "only" got increased from 500 to 750. This is a money grab because increasing cert price = more will spend SC to get the item so they don't need to farm so much. I already have the Halberd on both my MBT and Harasser but this is just silly...

SOE "patch notes" is nothing but highlights of what they want to hype up, like decrease in infantry weapon prices. They NEVER give full patch notes, nor do they actually add most of the nerfs or price increases. If they add it in it will just be like with the anti-tank weapons this patch beign "adjusted", to hide what it actually does. I don't see any reason to trust SOE with your money at this point, as this isn't the first game they've messed up by "improving" it all the time.

I can see that aspect of an increase being controversial (and the fact that those who already bought the halberd just own it without having to pay more), but many of you are pretty much ignoring the fact that one basic weapon of every type is now available at low cert prices (eg: BRs, G2A, shotguns, MAX weapons, etc.) and overplaying some of the very few cert price increases for vehicle weapons.

They were assuming that those who really wanted the halberd would have already bought it. And it still isn't very hard to save up for one even after the price increase, especially when they have the double exp weekend right after those increases.

They didn't make the Halberd better.
They just nerfed the crap out of the Vulcan and the Halberd became a better choice as a direct result.

i mis-wrote: i meant, the halberd became a better long-distance anti-vehicle (debatable) weapon due to the changes. although ive been using the enforcer more and more and... its okay. not too shabby. even against vehicles. against infantry iss... meh. u need a good accurate gunner.
