So who exactly is responsible for the atrocity that is the Quartz Ridge Spawn room?

  1. Fortress

Because whoever it is has turned rock stupid base design into an art form.

It's fine if the territory is being attacked from the north, but pretty terrible if being attacked from the south. A la Jaeger's Crossing.
  3. Madcat9

I imagine it is a delay for re-spawning defenders to reach the northern walls trying to stop the barbaric armor hordes from breaching into the southern lands.

Quartz ridge is on indar, jaegers crossing is on Esimir.

Nevertheless, the similarity remains that both bases are relatively easy to take from one warpgate and near impossible from the other side, given equal populations.
  6. zib1911

Not arguing the point just saying that they are 2 seperate bases.
  7. Jeslis

The base is designed to be held by whichever faction controls the lowerleft warpgate//attacking from HVAR.

That place is a nightmare to cap when attacking from north and walk in a park when attacking from south. That and easy acces to crossroads and regents are like the only positive things about having the goddamn SW warpgate.

Yeah. There are some bases that seem like the battle is supposed to flow through them in only one direction. It's a bit weird.

I think having a handful of bases like Quartz Ridge make sense, insofar as they seem like places that can tell a story; and they provide an advantage that will let one of the forces have an inherent advantage. Fortunately, bases that tell a similar kind of story are rare, but having a handful in every map seems like a good thing, especially if that knowledge is integrated into the metagame with savvy platoon and outfit leaders knowing they have this or that fortress they can rely on when they are having to pull back from an advancing horde.

probably the same genius that designed the exit for vehicles bays so that when you spawned you ran into rocks or other buildings upon exiting
