So that september 7 patch - cert refunds?

In the patch notes I don't see anything about cert-refunds?

Maxed out suit slots worth just shy of 2000 certs each being handed out, but nothing about refunds.

Not sure IF these changes were to come I kinda spent a few thousands certs on a couple of classes a few days ago. A little bitter-sweet with the new patch...

    EDIT:

Also - whats left to cert on the medical applicator? Revive speed? All ranks got same range a while ago and now all ranks get same revive percentage. All that leaves is revive speed or am I forgetting something? Guess my alts won't be spending much certs on medical applicators. Guess thats a good thing.

They said on reddit there would be no refund ...:(
  3. PinkHurtsMyEyes

Ye gotta love that no-info outside reddit stuff. I'm not on reddit - and I did not even know if these changes WOULD come - I heard it in a kamikaze or joshino vid (forget who) but it was all - "maybe, possibly". So I just wasted 2-3000 certs a few days ago. Equals a coulple of months worth of membership cert reward...

yep, i have maxed nanoweave on 3 different heavies, thats instantly 3,5k certs.
then theres all of the little things like laser sights and scopes,
in all yeah i'm probably out about 4k certs too :p

still, a good change for the newer player, would have been nice to get refunds though, ah well.

and yep, it makes you wonder why us shmoes are using the official forums when the devs themselves can't be bothered to put important info here.

yeah them only giving out important info like that on redit is utter bs. not sure im thrilled about no refunds either, not that i need the certs, just on principal . cant say im surprised about either though

I always need certs. I'm a generalist and play all classes and all vehicles - that is a cert sink like nothing. Just ballparking cert figures from the cert-viewer some general observations are:

All infantry classes cost over 30k certs fully upgraded (including weapon unlocks but excluding weapons) - yes thats everything and nobody does that but effectively you'll see about 10k certs per class with a couple of guns before you are "done".

If you play vehicles the potetial cert need is close to a million certs for all of them if you cert guns. I have ALL the original vehicle bundles except the flash (all factions). The original bundles were worthwhile the new ones are a joke (or an insult if you want).

But effectively we are looking at at least 10k certs per vehicle too. Some easily twice that. My sunderer stans at 16k certs but I bought all the guns for that one so we are talking at least 20-25k to cert it to that point.

At BR100 you are roughly at 100k certs plus. Thats not nearly enough just for "effective builds" - you are looking at close to 200k for a "finished" generalist character. Completion is insane and probably in the 1000 000 cert ballpark.

or a few hours of game time. Calm down, 3000 certs aint that bad.
  8. PinkHurtsMyEyes

If you are able to earn an average of 1500 certs per hour reliably you sure have that spm down.

    Just some figures here.

Say a player has a score per minute of 203 (which happens to be the average of Miller server according to dasanfall)

With 250 points per cert, that gives about one cert every 1,2 minutes

1211 certs equals 1491 minutes or 24,8 hours.

If we skew that slightly to the people BR 60+ who are more likely to have invested the cert, the SPM goes up to 292 and a total of 17,2 hours for those 1211 certs. It's still a substantial amount of time.

I can understand why some people feel cheated.

Agreed, there is always something to cert, having said that ive sat on 30k+ certs now for god knows how long . Perhaps ill spend them on the new constructables, when they finally release.

I do however know of some1 who has 'everything' certed, and yes i mean absolutely everything.
Think he up there on the leaderboard for all time score but i havent looked at that thing in well over a year so..
Im sure he isnt the only one, but he has confirmed to me directly that this is the case for him.

Dont forget there was a few years between BR100 and BR120, so anyone who acheived BR100 (many many players) before the increase, gained certs / xp without leveling. Then theres boosts and memberships, and the fact that a 6month 50% xp bonus given to alpha squad members was actualy more like 18 months due to constant resets. Its definitely conceivable that some players have/had earned 3-4 times the 100k certs by the time they reach BR100.

Keep in mind the amount of certs it cost to get nanoweave most of us have already earned back using said upgrade...
  12. Jake the Dog

Do you have a vehicle class that you play proficiently as well as membership?

Combine those two, I've earned roughly 2k certs within a day. That ofc was when I was a member.

For me its all about the MBTs. Master esfs, tank, libs and you will earn more certs than you know what to do with. Literally, thats how I maxed triage and the ammo pack. I had no idea what to do with my certs so I threw them at ammo packs.

The only Cert Refund that I found in the patch notes were for the Ant's Mineral Radar.
  14. OldMaster80

After 4 years I don't know where to throw my certs... who cares about a refund? At least I have something new to purchase.
  15. Jawarisin

No, but on average, I'd say fully boosted with membership, 550 certs an hour. With no boost/no membership, 220 certs an hour (basically 550 is 2.5x 220...)

that's on average. But yeah, if they give a double exp weekend, you could get 1500 certs per hour if you're fully boosted :D

Still though, the lost of a few thousand certs really isn't that bad. It's not like you're losing anything directly. It's more like other people are getting something for free. But that's been happening forever. When I bought my first gun (scout rifle), it was 1000 certs for that infiltrator scout rifle. I think it's 250 now? And many more like that.
  16. Jawarisin

The average score per hour is not a good thing to base yourself on. Not only has it DRASTICALLY increased since the beggining of this game, but there's multiple factors not taken into account. Such as people actually dicking around and not earning certs or doing anything relevant. I'm not expecting to make bank while I'm making a flare gun fight with a few pals. But that's still counted.

Then again, anybody who earns a score of 17.5k per hour is earning that because he's following the zerg, braindead and not useful to anybody. You can literally make more by sitting in a flash or valk with scout radar and just standing still in a safe spot near/in a fight.

Also, it's not like anything is taken AWAY from them. It's just new players that get a little extra. Not only that, but if they had already purchased it, that means they've used it for a while before too. And really, should anybody feel cheated because someone who just started playing gets a small extra? You have to be quite pathetic to whine about that.
  17. breeje

it's only 2k to 6k of certs, you will earn this back in one nice game session:eek:
DBG can keep the certs, i don't mind as long as they keep working on this game
