Taken before the model of it despawned, it may look closer due to me in the process of falling down and not standing upright.

I suppose the range is pretty crazy, and the blast radius.

Or maybe that was a second claymore? Did you check to see if it was still there?

You must be one of the first... grats or something...

It was the 'second' as I have flak armor and it takes two to kill me. But I saw the model vanish after a second or so. The servers are a bit laggy so I'm sure that's why the model persisted a bit after exploding.

No one else want to comment on the range of the claymore?
  6. TheRealMetalstorm

I would like to comment on the visibility of the claymore

Pretty ain't it, those two little lasers, and the tall thingy sticking out of the ground.

take a look at your AP mines and NC's AP mines ;)

pretty sure VS proximity mines dont have 2 green lasers making the mine dead obvious but yet not obvious enough for you. the fact that you hit two of them is hilarious.

I reckon you got dine over by a second claymore dude. I use them from time to time when I'm working inside biolabs or guarding shields at other places and generally speaking they have a detection and kill range of about 2 meters tops. In the case here in the pic I would say there was one clay for people rushing up the stairs and another a few meters away facing inwards across that walkway from the outside wall.

I dont think the standing design of the Claymore is wrong, but the lazer should not show to anyone but then eng himself when he sets it, if that. Being able to spot them before i come around a corner is comical. Though sometimes they dont have the lazer, im not sure whats up with that, but its much more fair.

That wasn't the claymore that killed you the blast radius isn't that far.

It is worth noting that to all the people that have no idea what they're talking about, yes you bloody well can see the goddamn green lasers as an enemy.

I'm guessing, based on the screenshot, that you tripped over one, flipped over the guard railing and then fell to your death?

    Only plausible explanation.

I am quite certain. I questioned if I was quick enough because as soon as I pressed the screenshot button it poofed.

Also the lasers aren't always there, I've seen claymores with and without them.

Hence why I was positioned in a place I thought to be out of range.
  13. Hoki

Look we don't need this screenshot as some kind of unique research, the blast radius of a claymore is well known and it isn't that far.

    Here ya go.

When resources get removed from VR we can do some real testing of these things.
  16. Jrgsubzero

I just tested it in the vr.
  17. Phyr

But you'll run out, and I'm lazy.
  18. Jrgsubzero

I only needed to do it once unless you're unhappy with the video?
  19. Phyr

I'd like to compare it's damage, w/ flak, at different ranges, against the other factions.
  20. TheRealMetalstorm

the explosive range is greater simply because the claymore is DIRECTIONAL.
so from one end of a VS AP mine's AOE to the other, it'll be just as large as the DIRECTIONAL claymore.
also, the triggering distance for the claymore isn't much more than VS/NC AP mines.
Remember to account for all factors in a comparison.
