Trying to finish this directive and snowmen and non exsistant on amerish/hossin and the other 2 continents are barely ever open. This directive was supposed to be easier than the halloween one but finding snowmen is so much harder.
Here. Go to Esamir. Grab a Mosquito, arm it with any nose gun, and fuel tanks. To escape if someone tries to hunt you down. Fly low, like under 100m, and slow. Follow the roads, they always spawn by them. look for any groups of trees, look near hills. You'll find them. I've found most of mine up North, and South East.
First go here: https://github.com/ief015/PS2-Mapper/wiki Load up a map of whatever continent you are on. Fly around whatever section your empire controls and try to find the ones that should be there. If you aren't finding any, it's likely that at least one enemy faction isn't killing theirs and as such they are spawning there but not being killed/respawning in your areas. So go take a flyby through enemy teritory (preferably the lower pop one) while following the map. When looking on esamir I was finding only one or two every 10 min maybe in the south. I went to the NC controlled eisa and every snowman that could spawn around it was just sitting there. tl dr: Snowmen will be in/around the places where nobody is currently defending/spawning from.
gave up after tier 2 ... as far as I could tell on Connery they wouldn't spawn at all unless that Hex had been recently contested. ...like seriously, 2 hours hovering around in a Valk looking, and only finding 2 of them right near the battles I had originally left from to go hatted snowball hunting. If I'd known that, I would have just stuck to hill sniping around fights and probably found way more in less time
I have finished the directive on all 3 of my chars relatively quickly, after that the real problem was finding the golden snowman for all 3 - still done b4 xmas.I have hunted down maybe ~500 snowmen b4 finally finishing with the golden one. Protip - play on Esamir ,get an ESF , fly over roads (snowman spwn in a such a way to always be visible from the road),make couple passes over every base, there is always AT LEAST 1 in every base, unless it was just killed. If you dont hold territory on the continent and are a noob in an ESF like I am,grab a harraser instead and stick to the roads! Contested bases usually spawn multiple snowmen at the same time, but going for them is a huge risk. DO NOT: look at maps, they dont cover even 20% of spawn locations camp a spawn, snowmen have multiple spawn locations per base and there is usually only 1 per base spend too much time in a base, its possible some1 got there just a minute ago and cleared it overlook bases because you havent seen a snowman there yet, there is AT LEAST 1 spawn per base Good luck! P.S. Any spawn can spawn the golden snowman, and afaik there is only one per continent at a time.Keep looking and you will eventually find it. P.S.S. Indar is also great for finding rockmen, since they contrast vs the ground and are easy to spot, hossin is obv covered by trees everywhere so its a bit harder, but still doable, and amerish is by far the worst, since there are plants that look a LOT like rockmen from distance and you will waste a lot of time looking at them.
Same spawns, but as others have mentioned don't rely on the map 100%. Following roads/going where a sundy might park are good bets.
I found a lot of mine on the southern half of Esamir. There's a big facility east of the the SW spawn gate. Go into that spawn room and run east, up the stairs and through the turret. to the left a ways, there was one. keep running east to the next little facility. There were two in that little tree cluster. Then run south around the back to another 3 tree cluster, one was there, and then a 3 tree cluster behind some rocks south of that wall, there was another there. From there, go around the facility to the NE and look to the SE for a lot of rocks and those purple crystals. follow that main road to the next spot facility. Look across the road on the way as I saw two there, including a gold. The problem I ran into was that Esamir seemed to be locked more then it was unlocked.
I've seen two so far. I couldn't believe I got the second one because it was in the middle of a big battle and not far from the spawn room.
Got to the final stage of the directive within a day , and just spent 2 hours driving a round Esamir looking for the 20 snowmen required , only found 3 and then BAM ! Golden Snowman = Job Done !
