snipers need compensation

    If they are planning on giving back the certs spent on Nanoweave (which they are) it seems fair to request that players also get certs or SC refunded on BASR purchases.

    also i dont consider the 150m range ohk a buff, easier to just use my HA SAW single shot. no holding for breath for one...more ammo, better at closer quarters then a BASR. why do infiltrators exist again?

    Recon darts, and hacking terminals so they can switch into a non-gimped class.

    Depends on where you look on forumside. I don't think they are, but apparently many others do.

    But maybe they are. We should rebalance the class to just have a beamer, a knife, and a grenade that when thrown shouts "Infiltrator here!"

    Hell, watch Mustarde (who, loathe as I am to say it, is the best BASR sniper in the game). I'm willing to bet he likes these changes.

    yes take the really really good players, and base things off of how they deal with the masses.

    heres a hint, take anyone that gets REALLY good, and they can make even a crappy pistol on a light assault look overpowered. not a good point to compare.

    Whoa now, debates and all that is fine, even flat out arguments for the people who feel really strongly about this, but asking for compensation on something that not only have you gotten a good amount of time out of, but bought simply because you wanted to have another bolt action and didn't want to wait a week is kind of silly.


    Also, assuming you bought the longshot, you are still going to get a use out of that sniper. Hell, with these new changes I may even get the longshot myself and put down my SAS-R simply because with the range in which you need to get headshots the bullet travel time is pretty negligible with that sniper. I'll spend less time lining up my shots and more time actually taking those shots.

    and more time being shot, combined with low hp, have fun with that.

    but yes, snipers should get some kind of compensation for now being the weakest class in the game. our AI capabilities are regulated to being an annoyance, not a force.

    also @ Flapatax-you balance around the highest tier and all you get is people flocking to the highest skill floor class, wich isnt sniper. sniper will be relegated to the elite few who would still make a larger impact on a different class/tactic. still making sniper ultimately useless by comparison with everything else.

    I honestly feel these range changes nullify what made this game interesting for me, the scale. whats the point of having such a large scale if you cant affect anything form those ranges. mine as well have each area of conflict be instanced and do away with the travel times.

    Actually, they do.... it's called ESF w/ Scout Radar... which kill more snipers than snipers kill people.

    Also, sniper team mates... from what I see, myself included, spend as much or more time hunting and killing other snipers than sniping regular infantry. But, here's the downside... with this proposed change... if a sniper takes a good perch on a high cliff, he can easily two shot you... but no other sniper will be able to easily two shot him. So, well positioned snipers will be effectively immune from other snipers... even without nanoweave, so they can toss on the flak armor and be even safer from other threats.

    Also, killing at < 150m is incredibly easy... snipers like me, specialize in 200-400m running kills, which take a lot of skill to pull off, and we're the only ones being nerfed.

    Mana AV & SABR-13, IMO. I'd argue dumbfire RLs, but after the tears of how 'hard' they are to use over the last year, I'm probably the only person that actually tried it :rolleyes:

    Snipers can have compensation after tanks get compensation.

    Things get nerfed. The 150m headshot is actually a BUFF, but if you can't see that, you have my permission to keep crying.

    yes you can counter nanoweave within 150 meters, you can also die constantly...so enjoy that. /crying continuned
