Skynight Bushido Nonsense

Was referring to the various logical fallacies you have used in your crusade against aircraft.
  2. Taemien

I've played a variety of PVP games. Those types of players always find a way. Whether its MechWarrior, WoW, EQ, AA, some random FPS. You always have to play by 'their rules'. So the solution is the same. Hold them accountable for their actions. Better yet, hold their friends accountable.

Also the same "rules" guys always tried/tries to get anything that upsets them nerfed.
  4. Reclaimer77

There is no "crusade against aircraft".

You are just taking people's opinions personally because you're all into the airgame and biased. Well tough cookies man.

My interest into the airgame rarely goes beyond getting a Gal and going from point A to B. Don't know where you're getting the idea that all of us are into it. I personally don't give two craps about ESFs or Libs, they're useless. But I'm not going to tell someone they should or shouldn't use them, or even go so far as to TK over like some people in this thread.
  6. Reclaimer77

I was replying to him not you, I even quoted him. What are you talking about Taemien?
  7. Gundem

As I said before, I spend most of my time as an infantry.

  8. zaspacer

"Sky Knights" are hypocrites. They complain about players who use one type of A2A Loadout ESFs, but they themselves use A2A Loadouts vs. A2G ESFs. And they also cry when there is talk of removing Fuel Tank from Wing Mount or making it standard on ESF, which would give other ESFs the edge they use. And they often hunt in packs and gang up on weaker targets, yet they complain about "honor" from others.

They just want their edge, the same as every other self-serving type of player.

They do, but the current way it works gives them more self-justification.

It reminds me a bit of the WoW R14 system; initially there was essentially a time-block, if you couldn't (or wouldn't) put in the time you couldn't get R14 no matter how good you were or even who you played with, you simply needed to put in X hours a day to progress..... and there were many that defended that system, horrible as it was.

It was better for the game when they changed it (and I'm not talking with sour grapes here, I was the 4th R14 on my server and did it under the hardest system - an act of rank stupidity in hindsight) and made it less "elite" or rather reduced the time-block.

PS2 Air would be much better if they made it more newbie friendly too.

    +1 for TKing SoljVS

I will myself, if I see a douchebaeg like SoljVS being a complete moron over make-believe 'rules' in a fictional game, shoot them in the face or consistently TK them until they realize they're an ignoramus who needs desperately to get a life. Even though they play the game, NO ONE actually wants them there and DBG doesn't have the manpower to ban them, so we have to police this issue on our own by any means necessary.

A person being an idiot ingame will eventually learn to correct their behavior if they are consistently TKd for doing so.

Honestly, if more people in the community will TK players like SoljVS on sight with me, we could probably get them to quit all together. I should probably create a thread where players can sign up to TK SoljVS.
  11. Jamuro

So ... Tking is bad BUT TKing a Tker over and over again (based on forumside stuff) is a good thing?
  12. Moridin6

the community joining together to chase out an unsavory element is not a bad thing
  13. Jamuro

Following your logic there ... the skyknights banding together to remove an unsavory element (tomcat user) is not a bad thing.

Now all joking aside ... the hatred for tomcats isn't something new nor something only the top 1% of pilots complained about for years.
It's easy to overlook in all the hatred the fact that the tomcat is a flawed weapon (see my other posts for my reasoning) and since it's introduction never was considered fun or engaging.

But sadly air is shunned (by the devs as well as the community alike) and that means stuff like that will never change ... no matter how many people cry.

Edit: Again ... i am not endorsing TKing in any form ... i am just trying to point out that this kind of hate/bushido stuff isn't something people just came up with to crush noobs ... but a materialisation of downright broken and unenjoyable game mechanics forced upon a small % of the playerbase ... and years of ignorance from the dev team.
  14. Chibknot

I don't see why other pilots hates lock on, for me, it is a great weapon for help newbies to stay alive.
I spend around 70% of my playtime in my reaver, and I already used that weapon A LOT, nowadays I consider myself a median pilot and I feel secure to don't use that, but I learned A LOT with lock on.
The ace pilots maybe can't see, but lock on help the newbies to learn the air game, because to aim a lock on is easier than to aim a noose gun, at least for me, learn to aim a lock on helped a lot to aim a noose gun.
I understand the ace pilots about having a sky full of lock on wouldn't be fun, but the newbies need some help to learn how to fly instead of only die over and over.

I'm sorry for any english issues, I'm not a native speaker of english.

So Skynights freely use AH/PPA/Banshee and rocket pods against ground but think using A2A missiles in unfair... That's adorable.

You are completly right ... but the main point is that the lockons (tomcats mostly here ... coyotes are a bit better) are a poor choice as newbie weapon mechanic.
While it's true that it takes away some of the pressure a new pilot has when aiming ...

it does NOT teach them in any way how bullet drop works or how to lead ...

and even prevents dodging to a certain degree (you need to stay on target to get a hit off ... and dodging to throw off an enemies aim results in a complete reset for the lock on timer.

What we need is a newbie friendly nose gun ... one with a good bullet velocity ... a high rate of tracers and a flak mechanic (meaning the shells explode once close enough and are more forgiving when it comes to aim)

Sadly tomcats don't do that ... and even worse aren't fun/engaging to counter ... which only made them look worse for the already manifested pilot community and probably started the whole rage.
  17. Scr1nRusher

The "airgame" is a ******** term, there is 2 aspects of it.

    The A2A game

    The A2G game
  18. Jamuro

please show me a skyknight that prefers hunting ground over air ... almost all dedicated pilots(esf .. lib pilots are ********^^) i know are a2a specialists and usually only kill infantry/tanks out of boredom.

The guy hunting ground usually is the new pilot ... simply because it's a HELL OF A LOT easier and in a way a direct exchange of nanites to kills.
This is not because pilots hate infantry and wage somekind of misguided crusade ... BUT simply a byproducts of the lack of good/engaging newbie friendly armaments.

    Edit:
In this case i agree with Scr1nRusher ...
Imo the heavy A2G focus of some pilots is simply because of a lack of balance in the a2a game
  19. Moridin6

they are a very small percentage of the community, and based on the small sampling in this thread id say most players would likely read his post and go "wtf.. F u buddy", regardless of their view on a2a lockons.. his attitude(their?) is atrocious and is a far superior and faster acting poison to this game than Any weapon ever could be.
  20. pnkdth

Prefer to or not, getting farmed is still getting farmed. If I pull a MAX it doesn't matter what I say about them in terms of balance. I'm still using it and no matter what I feel about the subject I doubt the person on the receiving end cares if I feel bad about it.

I doubt pilots hate infantry but that wasn't the point. Skynight whining over someone using a weapon specialised against them to the point where they will TK to stop it. Thankfully there's not a lot of them around(you gotta wonder why, they seem like such a nice bunch of players to hang around with). Imagine if everyone acted like these morons, TKing people because of disapproving of a certain type of weapon or vehicle. The game would be a total mess.

Infantry have to deal with the Air farmers, you can deal with some lock-ons. It isn't like an ESF cost a lot of resources anyways.
