Everyone fussing about all the ballance issues Sony created this mess when they made every faction have diffrent bonuses. It would have been far easier to just give all the weapon variants for each class the same stats and no one would of made a peep about it. Faction would of come down to what flavor you liked instead of x y z factors that are impossible to ballance.
factions are balanced, HA for NC needs some tweaking thats it. Without factions being different whats the point... No one would want to play Starcraft if all 3 races were the same except color, same concept here. I would quit immediately.
Red vs. Blue Gosh...wouldn't that be novel and new...really force us into unusual thinking situations! REd vs. Blue *bleh*
That would be a valid argument if not for the fact that the flavor granted by some aspects of each factions weren't directly superior or inferior to their counterparts due to the mechanics of the game. On paper it can look fine until you factor in what is actually happening when used.
This game as about asymmetrical balance. As such, there will always be whining from one party or another. So many defining characteristics of the factions as they were in PS1 have been lost or weakened already, let's try to keep the ones we have...
It really has more to do with players who don't want the extra challenge to work with what they've got, and play to the strengths and weaknesses of a race/faction/class/weapon/etc. Personally, once there is a consensus on what the worst race/faction/class/weapon/etc is , and if I'm still playing the game, I'll go and take my lumps for a few weeks until I master it, then show people how 'underpowered' or 'weak' something is in the right hands.
This right here. There are a few tweaks that could be made at this point, but aside from The Crown being an utter waste of the attacker's time, there are no game fundamentals that need altered. Touch up AA a bit (currently underway) Make each weapon that currently exists interesting and situationally useful (largely there except for a few cases) Get cheaters the hell out (currently underway) Once those three things are done, its a matter of slowly broadening class functionality. This game is fundamentally good as is.
nah, i like the faction differences. it adds strategy. I like having to change the way i take on opposing LAs depending on what guns they may likely have. I enjoy hating them for their unique advantages and exploiting my own.
