Silencers on Pistols & Damage Dropoff

I'm back in the game after a long hiatus, going for the pistols directive on TR for the President.

My question is: Since Silencers dropoff damage by 20 meters (thus shifting the damage chart to the 'left' by 20 meters right?), that means their minimum damage range of 8 meters is just 'blown past', thus that even if you're 1 meter away from someone, you're doing something like 85ish damage per bullet, tops, right?

    Per this link https://planetside.fandom.com/wiki/TX1_Repeater :
    Max Damage:
    112 before 8m
    Min Damage:

    77 after 50m

I do think it would be helpful to have interactive charts in the game that show you the actual weapon's stats after you've modified it compared to the default.

In your case, I'm pretty sure what this means is that instead of dealing 77dmg at 50m, it now starts dealing 77dmg at 30m. On pistols I would say that's not really a big issue, especially with the repeater since it's not meant to be used at a distance (at least since they removed the single fire mode).

Personal tip for doing pistols: do them as a HA. Forget about suppressors and infil sneaky sneaky. Commish, underboss, pilot, emissary and repeater. Each with laser and a 1x scope. That's all you need really, run around as a pistol heavy destroying everyone. Fastest way to do it.

Hah...damn okay maybe I have been being too slow about it with my sneaky sneaky modes. Fair enough, I'll give it more of a try, thanks.

Yeah that confirms my understanding then. I mean that difference of like 30 or 40 damage per shot can still mean something like 100 less damage per burst even if you hit 100% of the time, so a silencer really does...kind of stink with pistols. At least if you're using it solo. But it could still be worth it if you're up against groups etc., which one usually is.

Thanks for the confirmation! I will try to feel this out again now.
