[Suggestion] Shouldn't EMP Grenades Disable HA Overshields?

    I like this idea, EMP should disable abilities like HA shield, medics heal/regen bubble, LA jets etc.

    At the same time, decoy grenade is useless. It's never helped me one bit. The sound and mini map dots should be a lot more realistic.

    You're right, I submit. But anyways 100hp is still less than one bullet.

    Tell me, have you ever been zerged by tanks or aircraft? You know why? Because there are not enough people playing HA.Now you want to nerf it so that nobody would care to play this class...

    You think it's a noskill class right? Let me tell you something: If you played infiltrator and managed to kill 50 ppl with an SMG while your spawn was being shelled by tanks then you did WRONG.They will just respawn and the tanks will keep shelling the spawn, so you'll still loose the battle. But if a random noob switched class to HA and didn't kill even a single person but tried to fight the tanks back then he still did better than you. I wish everybody was like that particular noob:" We need more heavies so I'll switch to HA".

    Also:
    1. If heavy had no overshield then who would lead an assault? LAs,Medics or Engineers?They all have same health after all...
    2.AV grenades are 100% useless. Try them in the VR.
    3. Infiltrators also have access to the unique sniper rifles. Perhaps they should lead the assault?
    4. HA's weapons are NOT better than the weaponry of any other class. For example SMGs are better than LMGs at close range,sniper rifles outclass LMGs at range as well and Assault Rifles are just as good or even better than an LMG at medium range.
    5.Yes,HAs have rocket launchers. And so what? Engineers have mines and AV turrets, LA's have jetpacks and C4 and even medics have C4.Rocket launchers are VERY poor against infantry at ranges longer than 5m because you have to hit perfectly to get that kill and taking out an LMG takes hours...

    Final note: If you believe HA is OP then why don't you play this class? Please record a video for me. I want to see you pwn those pubs.

    I don't kick in doors in PS2 with any Grenade. I use my RL and LMG or hit Shields and breach with my Barrage. You need a CONCUSSION Grenade with that too? Scrub :p

    Exactly.


    The heavy assault would still be a viable class even without the class shield. As glowchucks posted, which is correct, heavy has nothing to do with shields or survivability. Heavy is a factor of weight, The HA in Planetside 2 can essentially equip a primary weapon (the largest primary small arms weapon) like LMGs and Faction specific heavy weapons, AS WELL AS another primary sized weapon (technically even larger) AKA RLs. That fact alone makes it the all around soldier, front line soldier, whatever people seem to straw man from the official description.


    I wouldn't mind at all if AV grenades got buffed. However, HAs should not have access to SMGs nor concussion grenades. Concussion grenades should be LA and Infiltrator. HAs also should have their shield toned down. I'd rather see EMP grenades do some short duration disabling effect to vehicles rather then effect ANY class ability. (Xbows should be infiltrator only, or the detect darts should be infiltrator only at the very least)

    i would like to see a small delay before the shield activates, BUT in return i would also like to have the shield soak up a lot more damage once it is active.
