i downloaded it but i never played it today i deleted it but i have this feeling i should re-download it and i'm kind of torn because i want to play but i didn't want that game clogging up my PC... So should i keep it?

In my book, if you have so little hard drive space that you're worried about ~13GB "clogging up" your PC, then it's time for a bigger hard drive ;)

I don't use the pts much but I keep it anyway. If you need the space I wouldn't feel bad about it.

its a good place to practice driving and flying. plus you can pretty much buy anything you want.
not much to shoot at though, but it is peaceful.
well, except the curt yells from devs, just best to stay away from them. cuz they likely have super powers. :)

    Actually, that's not really correct.

I have a Solid State Drive for the incredible OS boot time, and they get pretty spendy past 250 mb.
And what's the point in getting one if it's not your C: drive to take advantage of the superior (2-3 seconds tops to boot up Windows 7) OS boot time?

Well, you could have the test client lie around somewhere else.
I personally have 3 SSDs by now, but if I was in serious need for space, an HDD would be a good place for a beta client.

It's entirely correct. I don't know of anyone, outside of someone gaming on a laptop, that has a SSD without a larger mechanical drive for additional storage. If the PS2 test client isn't high priority then put it on a mechanical drive and save the SSD for games that are actively being played.

Question: What is the difference between a SSD and a HDD?

HDDs, or Hard Disk Drives, are mechanical Data Repositories, and today's standard in most everything of Home Computer Size or larger.
    Basically, your average Hard Drive.

SSDs, or Solid State Drives, are an Electronic form of memory that eliminates the necessity for movement by saving Data on memory blocks/chips by means of applying some force like electricity.
SSDs are to be found in most modern Laptops, Tablets, Phones, and so on.
Compared to traditional Hard Drives, they are faster by up to several orders of magnitude, which is mostly noticeable when loading programs or content therein.
In turn, they are significantly more expensive for the same capacity.

For example, before I had all those shiny SSDs, redeploying in PS2 normally involved a 5 second loading time, sometimes twice, and when I finally dropped sometimes players or terrain would pop into view because it hadn't been loaded properly.
Nowadays, it takes about 2 seconds, and that includes loading of all surroundings.
Windows boots in under 10 seconds.

A lot of people who shy away from the cost of SSDs just get a medium size drive for their OS to accelerate boot times, temporary memory and other often used functions, thus not having the capacity for yet another 13 GB game.^^

I keep PTS on my spinning HD. Live Planetside is on my SSD.

I find it useful to practice flying as a warm up before trying to do it on Live. I also like that we were able to see changes like the Quick Knife and beg the Devs to not let the change move to the live server.

The argument against it is that since Luperza left, there are no more call for testers like during O:MFG. I felt that I was actually contributing back then. Every dev was asking for people to sign on during specific hours to help.
