Should I go ahead and get level 6 jump-jets?

I play Light Assault pretty exclusively and have a lot of certs sunken into it. I've currently got my jump-jets at level 5 and was wondering if I should go ahead and max it out, or if it's even worth it?

    Thanks

If you got the rest of your LA setup cert'ed out, then yes, then you can fly with the Galaxies.

Just think about all that juicy double-XP LA earned you last weekend. If you've got your other cert needs covered (C4, etc) and you play LA that much, I say go for it. The incremental differences can sometimes be hard to detect. I just know that JJ6 gets me most everywhere I need to go.

Simple answer is yes. Complex answer is why the hell haven't you gotten it yet?

I had this same debate with myself, but I never regretted the decision once I fully certed my jets. They play a huge role in the class, they are its defining feature, so they should be as good as possible.

I am one of the few that say JJ maxxed before C4. 30 for a decent scope, then max JJ, then nanoweave to at least 3, then C4, then second C4, then nano to 5.

    At least thats my opinion.

Yes if this is your main class max it out. What else do you want to sink certs in? You can reach new places and recharge your jets faster.

Aren't JJs still broken? Or are they fixed now? Last time i checked you gain 1-2-m height for the last upgrade...
  9. Torok

Yes. absolutely. go for the level 6

Anyone else have bugged jump jets after the last patch? Letting the JJ's off for a half second was recharging half the power bar. Wasn't all the time but happened a few times at least.

    Now they suck again.

Jump Jets seem to behave differently each patch. I would often jump across a bit, then drop a bit and recharge and slow my descent to land safely. Then another patch I do the same and go splat on the ground.

    Things to get first

    -2 C4
    -attachments for your gun
-upgrade your suit of choice to the next to highest level

    then max out JJ

    JJ6 imba
    nuff said :D

seriously: get them when you play LA a lot.
If you play mostly other classes, dont buy it.

Jumpjets have gone through many layers of bugs and it is not surprising that new ones crop up. I think what we're seeing is another twist on the JJ display bug, where your JJ meter will instantly fill up. But that is just the display of your fuel level. Your actual fuel level is still where it should be. Your display says you're full, but you are really at 50% and recharging at the normal rate. For a single test jump, the bug isn't a big deal. When you're in combat and jumping here and there, the display becomes totally untrustworthy and can lead to frustration and death.

Like the previous bugs, it will be squished. Just grin and bear it until then.

There's another bug where jump jets just don't work sometimes...

JJ6 is pretty big difference. could feel my jets lacking when I rolled alts and had to level them up again, it's just so much more mobility and opens up more options. more leeway if you get into a bad spot and need to escape or grapple a cliff

I haven't seen the JJ not working bug anymore since a patch awhile back, and I pretty much exclusively play LA. the meter was a bit buggy recently, but tended to be more beneficial than harmful

even if you don't have 2 C4 yet, might get JJ6 anyway, especially if you love bio labs, amp stations, attacking towers

When I was using the first TR SMG I was debating whether I should get the level 6JJ or a few levels into ammo belt, but with the new shotty replacing my SMG I'm having a lot less trouble managing my ammo. Just waiting to have enough certain for my JJs now. But ya, C4 x2 and gun attachments are a lot more important for beginners.

If LA is your primary class and you've got enough certs saved up to purchase JJ6, do it. The increased recharge speed is helpful and the extra boost has pulled me out of more than a few close calls. I noticed the difference from JJ5, and became accustomed to it quickly. As a Light Assault, you won't regret maxing your Jets.
