Shield Choice - Other side of coin not mentioned in forums?

So I see people say and post how the NMG shield is always the same amount of usefulness regardless of how much shield/hp you have when you activate it (as opposed to the resist shield which is more useful the more health it's active for while you lose it).

I haven't seen anyone mention the NMG shield usefulness is tied the exact same way to how much energy/nanites you have left (whatever what it consumes to run is called). So resist shield activated when you only have 40% of the energy is just as useful as when you activate it from 100%, but with the NMG shield your energy % is actually how much of another health bar you have. So how much energy you have determines NMG's usefulness, and how much shield/hp you have determines resist's usefulness, right?

I wanted to not only mention this since I don't see it said anywhere, but also be sure I'm not crazy. The NMG shield's energy IS also directly used to absorb damage, right? That's what I'm seeing when it gets depleted by taking fire, right?

*edit* So also the NMG shield is losing effectiveness the longer you have it on without taking damage, while the resist shield, as long as you have enough energy to run it when it counts, it loses nothing by getting run without taking fire.

    Correct.
While not specifically mentioned, I'm sure most people are aware.
The real fight is between NMG and Adrenaline.

Really? I never gave Adrenaline a second glance, I thought it said "Killing an enemy recharges shield 5%". I thought it was complete crap. I better look again.

So if you use up some energy without a kill, it recharges at the same rate as a basic nmg?

Could we have some more info / insight on the Adrenaline Shield guys ?? It seems to be quite effective and i would not like to miss something as important as HA shields.

    Thank you in advance.

    Yes.
For further info, this thread might give further insight.

I find adrenaline to be better than resist, at least for me.

With resist, if I lost my normal shield I would have been dead with or without resist so between fights I had to wait for shield to reactivate, I even certed shield capacitor as I was waiting for my shield to start in between fights again, again and again.
Eventually I got annoyed by always waiting for that damn shield so I certed into adrenaline.

Upside for having resist is that its kinda better for 1vs1 because those fights end fast and in those seconds you only get 60% damage, but yet again, most of the time you will loose your shield after a fight and you will have to wait 10 sec before fighting again and if someone drops on you without shield, you're dead for sure.

In the end choose your shield according to your playstyle, if you dont mind waiting 10 sec after each fight when you get damage, get resist, but if you're impatient like me and always goes into gunfire, grab adrenaline.
I find having 2 shields are better than having 1 stronger.
