Shhhhhh VS, ZOE is more true to Jumpjets than Shield to PS1 Shield

In terms of functionality, ZOE and Jumpjets give the VS MAX improved mobility.

PS1 shield allowed you to shield yourself from all angles while being able to return fire. The new shield is nothing like this at all, and serves a completely different (non-existent) function.

The NC MAX from PS1 could never fire while using shield. Ever.

Please stop reposting something you heard somewhere.

Nice double standard on what denotes a "completely different function".

Thanks chriss for your useful insight once again. I'm sure VS are grateful that you speak for them.

    Or not.

You can reload while shield is up thats op.To balance out you should take extra dmg after it fades but will never happen cause that would be fair.

so far i know there are no Jumpjets, just zoe .... so everything else is irrelevant

with Jumpjets + zoe would work... they should be a package

and while the shield is up the enemy can drop mines/C4 at the MAX's feet, flank or get a good shot with a rocket launcher ready?

On second thoughts, call it OP all you want, nobody will use it so it doesn't matter - you will take attention away from our other weapons.

Yes cause no one is using vanguard shield..oh wait
  9. Pikachu

People use it when they are about to die. :D

Lets see... Frontal shield vs Omni shield. Infantry horizontal speed vs vertical take off... Yep, zoe is SO much closer to ps1 than the NC's. You don't have to like your shield, but trying to convince VS to like a power that does nothing similar in any shape or form to our ps1 power except that they both allow movement?
  11. Brusilov [TR]

    wut?
  12. Nyscha

Dear OP stop spreading false information.

The NC shield wasn't like that in PS1 and the current ZOE module is nerfed so VS won't even get a mobility increase.
  13. DashRendar

    K.

In other news, the Aegis has a 2 second arming penalty, and a 1 second disarming penalty, both of which you cannot fire but still take damage. So really the only time the shield is protecting your reload is.... get this.... when you are already done reloading. Get it? That's the best I got, I'm a genius not a comedian.
  14. Salamanerd

The mobility buff is said to be taken out.

Its now 100% extra damage for an extra bullet's worth of damage. No mobility upgrade because it made the max too hard to shoot.
  15. Ganelon

So, somehow the NC MAX ability, the exact same one as in PS1, has less similarities to PS1 NC MAXes than ZOE has to PS1 VS MAXes that could fly.

    I'm not following you.
  16. Zapon

They need to return the speed buff the ZOE had before they started reducing it-

They say superspeed is the next best thing after flight- however, we no longer have it, So - with the mobility nerfed, is it really similar?

    Posting in a Chiss thread.

Your info is out of date.

What's getting removed is the warp speed sprint bug, where if you sprinted to full speed first you'd be moving at super-speed. The normal mobility buff is still there, putting you at about the same speed as regular infantry. The damage penalty is greatly reduced; its now about a 15-20% penalty overall. It is no longer a 20% penalty to resistances, which effectively doubled damage taken. If the penalty is to resistances now, its a 4-5% penalty.

At least keep your facts straight if you're going to complain about the ability.

Percentages and percentage-units - confusing the hell out of people since the time they were first invented.
  20. Ultramarine

Nope, you actually cannot. Absolutely NO action can be performed while the shield is up, and it only blocks damage form the front. It turns the max into a walking meatshield for a few seconds while also making it tactically useless beyond protecting a single infantryman hiding behind him.
