Server Merge (Connery/Helios)

    its not the % that has me rdy for this. It's the numbers. Right now if we have 30 VS players we have a huge army. I want to have 100 VS players around me fighting. Even if the % stays 25 it would still be such a big improvement in gameplay. Yes i would prefer even teams but that's another issue. This will give us some big battles though woooot

    There will be many nc sitting on probably amerish with nothing to do and hopefully they'll re roll and join vs or tr and make the game what it was meant to be,all out war with even pops and many awesome fun funs,yes?

    I will look forward to the higher pop. Perhaps Indar will stay locked a lot more often and people end up fighting bigger battles on Esamir and Amerish

    Yeah right. NC on Helios/Genudine dont like to fight without 2 or 3 to 1 odds. If it aint zergy, they dont want to play.

    At least VS and TR fight uneven battles to the end. Best fights I have as TR is against VS. NC is either zergin your lone squad with 3 platoons, or retreating when you bring numbers to match. At least thats how it is on Helios.

    I am glad that the VS/TR pop should be more in balance now. You know with Helios TR pop stupid low, and Connery VS pop stupid low as well. This should be good. The huge NC pops, though, will be a headache. Still not sure how people can actually have fun being NC with such a huge pop. It has to get boring....right?

    Anyway really looking forward to the merge, hope it happens real soon.

    I have my VS on helios, and what I have seen of the NC on helios is this, they are, for the most part (with some exceptions of course) Really freaking stupid. So easy to kill and in groves, when of course they are not spamming you with shear numbers. For the most part, NC on helios seems unorginized, with exceptions of course. But I just don't know man. I can wipe out about 3 to 4 before they drop me, and I'm using the starter rifle for the VS engy with just the 2x reflex and NV scopes, no other attachments. TR on helios though, not as quite an inept bunch there, more organizable than the NC, and lower pop most times I'm on there. The VS are about the same as the TR on helios when it comes to competence and organizing. And they do have the second highest pop next to the NC. SO I think the VS on Connery will be getting a nice boost in pop and organization. TR will stay the same on connery, and the NC will get a flood of morons that will flood over to the 666'th and join them in their flood with shear numbers stragities.

    I'm NC on Connery and don't mind the 666'th, but I have seen a lot of their people being... not as organized and focused as they should be. Evilpig is a great guy and so are the rest of the heads of the 666'th (ran with them a little bit in PS1), but too many of their people are just lol spam and jerk off and TK for fun, or just don't know how to drive half the time. Course I may just be unlucky and see just that and not the more organized members. SO we will see. None the less, I look forward to the incress in pop and big battles on esamir and amerish.

    i cant wait for it, we might actually have a vanu population to speak of, and when they rotate us again we will be nice and cozy in our bottom left corner ready to fight

    God this is just wrong and miss informed in so many levels. NC does have a population advantage on Helios sometimes in off hours getting to 40-41% world population, with that said during prime time indar population is always locked with a 33% for each faction so if u are getting rolled over by NC dont claim that it is always because of the numbers.

    I dont know why NC pop grew as much as it did but it has to do with getting the "good" warpgate plus merging 2 servers where NC was the biggest faction. On the original Helios NC had a small pop superiority but VS would almost just as often get the highest pop and TR was always the lowest, after the magrider nerf Vs pop dropped a bit and majority seem to have gone to TR because their pop increased a bit. When the servers merged that initial increase TR got was completely lost because Genudine had also a small TR pop, Vs numbers increased a bit and NC numbers increased alot.

    Now before people start crying that this server will be very NC heavy, which i cant deny it wont affect u as much as you think. The total increase in players just mean that instead of a single continent getting population locked we prolly will have 2 and the excessive amount of NC will be dumped on the continent with the less activity. You can expect Indar pop to be 33% for each faction and Amerish/Esamir also with 33% or close and the third continent will have a major NC pop doing nothing (nobody to fight against) so in the end bigger balanced fights for all.

    Wrong.

    Many times on Helios, TR pop on Indar is much lower than 33%. I often see NC having a 5-10% pop advantage over TR--more often the 10%. With VS in second.

    Indar on Helios is NOT always 33/33/33.

    ...still waiting for this merge to happen. At this point even if it does I may not bother logging in anymore.

    Anyway, the name "Connery" comes from one of the main characters in the Planetside 2 lore. It also was the first US West server to go live, so I think the intention was for it to be the "main" US West server from the start. Not sure where the name "Helios" came from, presumably in the lore as well. Maybe one of the ships to make the trip to Auraxis or something like that.

    Ha,thought it was just me but the players over on helios well.... how should i put this without sounding like a jerk,less skilled then connery players they'll be in for a surprise when we get put there.Most of the people on helios just stand there or hide in bushes i was shocked but oh well.

    Low pop is better anyway, i would be happy to have the lower pop bonus exp. Alas im not going to change sides now, to much invested!

    I agree with this somewhat. There are reasons behind it though. All the factions have some very skilled players, but totally overshadowed by the bad zergs.

    Take "some" NC for instance. When 3-5 platoons go to take a base from TR holding it with 1 platoon, how "good" do you have to be to take it? How much tactics do you have to use? If you are in the zerg, and miss shooting a guy, there are 5 allies that will shoot him for you. Attrition will win that fight most of the time. This leads to zerg players doing stupid things. They do not need to get better to get the job done. So this leads to 1/2 azz skills.

    On the flipside you have some good players that do hold a base with small numbers for a very long time. This is where some of the better players learn to adapt, use tactics for an ever changing situation, and count on themselves more.

    I dont think there is going to be a huge surprise for everyone when the mege happens. I think it will continue with bad/good/average players and outfits, but maybe more will shine through.

    I also play on Waterson after Jaeger merged with it. After the merge, both servers said the exact same thing about their server being more skilled, and big surprises, etc. etc. After a week, all the talk was squashed, and it moved forward.

    Totally incorrect. I think in the past week I have seen the Indar pop locked at 33% once. For instance, tonight on Indar it was TR27%, VS31%, NC36%. This is usual. This is not rare. At the same time, eariler tonight TR had 35%,VS34%, NC31%....for about 30mins. After whatever continent VS/NC were done capping came back to Indar and bam, back to low TR numbers.

    I am not complaining, I would rather be the under populated than over populated, but just being realistic in what is coming.

    Work on your reading skills, i said DURING PRIME TIME Indar is always locked with a 33% for each faction and in off peak hours NC does indeed get a pop advantage hitting as high as 40% world pop. The claim that you are always losing to NC due to being overrun by numbers is false, there are times when the pop is the same but i still see people claiming that as an excuse to losing.

    Indar is rarely locked at 33%, even in prime time. When pop on Indar is close, TR pop on Amerish and Esamir is from 0%-14%. Also, when pop is even, its the same stalemate on Indar, that has been going on for months.

    I dont think anyone is complaining about losing to NC. I kill plenty, since there are always so many. Not like you can actually lose in this game anyway. Point is, NC has stupid numbers, and the merge wont help with pop balance, but hopefully it will give TR some pop to fight on another continent.

    Not sure why you are trying to make the pop balance seem like it does not effect anyone. Also not sure when you are playing, since most of the time NC has the highest % on every contient in prime time.
