    bad argument.

but at least with the new "depending on serverpop-continent lock" system. everyone will find fights thats fits for them

I've once found a bug for the instant action / spawn beacon drop pod caused me to bonce into space:confused:. its most likely fixed by now .

if you can't control the people in your squad then maybe you're just a bad squad leader.

Anyways, you can remove them and just have people in your outfit. People want to shoot **** because they're playing an F'ing Shooter.

Seriously my brain can't understand how some of you think...

I understand what you mean, but the main aspect of this game is massive fights. I mean you can't tell me you don't enjoy those night time fights at Indar Excavation Site and Quartz Ridge, hundreds of people on both sides, with missile tracers and pew pew lighting up the night sky. Its moments like that which make the game, not clever use of tactics (Which is still fun, I know) But don't expect a game to be something it wasn't 100% meant to be.

Miller, Indar, alert, full cont, ping goes even more crazy. From 100 to 600(usially it's 70-90). Dunno if this has to do with this update, but it is probably connected. Cos before I did'nt had it that bad.

I have to agree with Hyper and others who tend to prefer smaller (12-24 battles) rather than finding nothing but 48+ vs 48+ zerg competitions.

The statements that the continent locking mechanism is an attempt to make sure people can find "any size fight they like" is mistaken at best. While the lattice system (which IMO isn't that objectionable) does tend to focus more people into an area, the continent locking system is a blatant attempt to force as many big fights as possible, by artificially funneling as many people as possible into a smaller area.

High pop means you can let people play over a wider area, so a single continent lock is sufficient in order to generate/force big fights on the remaining 3 continents.

Low pop means you have to force people into a smaller area. Allowing 2 continent locks when you have a lower overall server pop, and you force those bigger fights by funneling everyone into 2 continents.

I've found the same thing since the update. I suspect that the artificial concentration of users contributes to worse performance than I've ever seen in this game at peak times. I don't know the specific mechanics of the game, but I suspect that trying to force nothing but huge battles has caused the unintended consequence of creating load issues. With more people in the same area, clients have far more to render, servers have far more to process, and networks have far more information to pass back and forth.

    They likely ate them.
This is the land of magic mushrooms, spooky sounds in the night, bullfrogs and fireflies.

So is the awful hit regsitration and packet loss going to be addressed/fixed anytime soon?

Just played for a bit, game dropped me on Hossin, after checking it out a bit I firgured I'd go else where,
warp gate out; 2 continents locked.
My first though, "ahhh, this sucks!" there was lots of fights going on, just felt like going some where else.
    open world FPS my butt.

still receiving extremely high latency, takes 2 minutes to deploy and everything else just warps...everywhere

i should start making a video of this stuff.

It's an EXCELLENT argument. Main ps2 feature is the massive scale of war: asking for smaller fights doesn't make any sense. There are 264896416895 games out there that offer small fights but NOT THIS.
  17. Tacom

Yes, but those other games are not free. I'm sure there are a lot of CoD and BF players who would love to have that kind of gameplay for free. So it is completely logic that they lobby for it.

What I would like to know is how SOE plans to get money from this market segment.
  18. SynaptixBrainstorm

sure its a bad argument. reason is that i was able to pick fights of any size since release. reason for that was to being able to play on wich continent i want. and the porblem with big fights is that you need a really good pc to run those not with 30 fps. wich ruins the FPS aspect since i have to be able to quickly react.
sure this game is ment to be massive in every way but the hardware barley can handle this even high end pcs...so why would i want to join the ultimate destruction for my hardware? and other games....dude im playing this for 2 years and im still enjoying it..dont tell me to play one of the 292983735628019274 other games out there. if you like those cluster faks then fine pick one some ppl dont and still want to play this game with all the LA's, HA's, infiltrators, Medics and vehicles...so why do you want to take this away from them ?

hope you enjoy the brainless zerg :D good luck out there soldier

I hope this change in continent locking doesn't mean there will be only 24+ player battles, small battles are fun and more cerebral than a zerg. Also my net likes to take a snooze on me at times and large battles lag the hell out of me as a result. If there are only these huge cluster fluk battles i wont be able to play until i get a better net like satelite or until my net starts to have a good month if at all. I now there are other players dont have perfect net as well.
