Server Maintenance for Game Update August 22nd

Wasn't it another update just yesterday? And as usual, there is a 'brief' (khm...) update the day when the double xp weekend starts and of course during the EU prime time. Been like this for the last few months...so what else is new?

Hey, new to planetside 2 (actually started yesterday and got only 3h played) and I accidentally launched the game without noticing the maintenance was on. I couldn't see my char, only got an option to create a new one. So did my char get wiped or can I access it again normally after the maintenance is completed?

How brief is brief? is there an ETA?

To be fair they posted the fact they were going to update a long while ago. Maybe check before activating next time?

i played for about an hour (first time playing planetside2) before maintenance. i have no idea what im doing, are players all on teamspeak or what? how do i leanr what the F im doing/meant to do?

I advice you find someone in your server to be your mentor. Find a clan and stick with them.
