I like to do that too, when I can, once in a year, when the lattice allows me to. Also, please don't compare infantry camping with vehicle camping.

Things you need to counter infantry zerg.
1) other infantry (preferably on your side ),
2) one or 2 people with enough initiative to pull their sundies at other close-by bases and drive them close to the one being attacked (sometimes even this is not necessary, if you can all rush out at the same time from the same camped room)
3) a gun, stock will do

Things you need to counter an armor zerg:
1) multiple people, who are in most cases strangers to establish an ad hoc chain of command (read:you do what some stranger said you need to do) and agree to spawn their tanks at approximately the same time, at the same specific base that allows heavy tanks to be pulled and go against the same zerg (some people want to go somewhere else, some will try to lone wolf it and die),
2) skills and knowledge at driving and firing weapon vehicles,
3) tanks that are certed properly, because the people who spawn tanks most are those that have invested in them, and a fully certed tank is unlikely to fall against a stock one (*hint, the fact that your tank is a stock can also indicate about your experience with tank fights),
4) enough resources

Both are annoying, but one is clearly harder to counter.

Invest more certs into what? It still takes more damage than other maxes no matter how many certs you dump into it and it deals equal or less damage than other maxes depending on range. It now has NO advantages only weakness oh except for that 1/2 step

Nice to see the Warden getting a buff! Lots of nice changes in this patch, to be honest. My only major gripes:

NC MAX AI weapons received no notable changes, still massively under-performing

C85 still seems pointlessly niche compared to the infinitely more versatile Marauder and PPA (in fact, this patch appears to have made it EVEN MORE niche, with the huge nerfs to its damage drop-off)

Flash Handling not even touched

This kind of thing happens in most games. They see a problematic situation and to fix it they nerf multiple aspects that empower the situation, buff multiple aspects that can detract from this situation and the result is overkill.

The new nerfs and buffs will create a multitude of new problems needing many more adjustments.

Meanwhile the player base will be split happy and mad, until the next round of adjustments happen, and the process will be repeated.

This certainly lives up to soe's sop.

Anyway the point is, you still want ZOE to be: quoting you ("What advantage is there to purchasing the ZOE now?")
There is not supposed to be any advantage, it's supposed to be an ALTERNATIVE.
Aegis and lockdown are alternatives to charge. Shield at the cost of no fire output and slower movement, higher RoF at the cost of no movement. Whereas ZOE was a plain upgrade, what was the reason to equip charge if you could have just hit your WIN button and run a little slower than charge, indefinitely and being able to shoot while doing so?
ZOE is now "only an alternative to charge" too, deal with it.
("So now ZOE is "more situational"?") Absolutely yes, now it's TR and NCs turn to /y lol l2p

You like playing with vehicles? Go play War Thunder and World of Tanks. I don't mind vehicles, and I wouldn't want them removed. What I don't like is the lack of balance.

Alternative to what?? You forget that it wasn't a "plain upgrade" ZOE takes more damage for the extra damage and speed it was given. And that is a huge price to pay compared to your invincibility with a shield at the only the cost of slower movement. Now that they took that damage and speed away leaving the ZOE with what?? All it does now is take more damage and not deal anything
