[Suggestion] Segregate the Players

    They kill vehicles and infantry equally well, headshots are a blast with them...

    You KNOW most people using a Sunderer don't give a crap about it. They can't even be bothered to switch to Engineer right there at the terminal and repair it most times.

    But so what? That's not relevant. So your argument is that if ALL players did EVERYTHING perfect in EVERY situation, balance issues wouldn't come up?

    Well that's just not realistic is it.

    LOL. Actually MBTs mean all of them and Mag is... I simply can't find a word to describe how much better it is. I simply don't play Prowler anymore. Yes, in terms of extreme long-range sundy destroying anchore Prowler is the best but that's all. At any usual range solo Mag with seat switching kills sundies the same good while staying a perfect versatile and evasive tank.

    Also I hate Vanguard - both to play and to counter. But still using it sometimes to keep in mind how it feels and what is capable of.

    The combined arms aspect of this game fell apart when the game was being designed to reward singular skill rather than teamwork (and still does.) Quite literally, most of the design in this game is "how can we make this fun for the user" without EVER asking if it's fun and acceptable for the guy on the receiving end.

    The next problem is actually quite simple - field play is a crap shoot. It's either vast swathes of open ground, or cramped little valleys, neither of which offers many options for cover. PS1 made infantry/vehicle work by littering the continents with forests (even the deserts) but giving a lot of open ground for tanks to operate. They didn't rely on the occasional big *** rock or some hills, they had actual forests that offered multiple cover spots. PS1 tanks pretty much had HEAT built in by default, but their killing power was limited because there were enough pieces of individual cover that they'd likely only get one infantry man at a time while the other dozen or so are unloading (and even standard bullets damaged tanks, if barely.) The only continent that really provides something like this is Hossin, but it's trickier to navigate.

    Also, the only failing of Esamir's walls are that they have no ramparts for infantry to fire from. They're simply towering sheets of metal that act as equal choke points for both the offense AND the defense.

    Mostly, this is just another issue that can be chalked up to really short-sighted design decisions.

    I mean are you an idiot? Do you know how stupid of a suggestion it was to say I should have MOVED a deployed Sunderer closer to an active armored threat, so I could jump out and put Tank Mines down?

    Nice sig btw. You only prove your own bias. Anyone who's ever driven a Sundy should be insulted by the very notion of what he said I should have done.

    Also u know what? Try yo report its driver to get him banned for attacking a peaceful sundy. Totally deserved for such a terrible harassment.

    Here's a fun mental exercise: If you have an anti-vehicle weapon that one infantryman can use to reliably destroy one tank with little risk to himself, then what happens when thirty or more infantrymen have that weapon?

    From what I've seen there's only two people in this thread that really caused the cesspool of personal attacks, and they've been making a sport of it in any thread regardless of the source material.

    I am sorry to wade in because I was part of the Air Thread cesspool.

    I can sum up Reclaimer77 (BR78 with limited to no vehicle stats) as this:

    His views are wholly infantry-centric and wholly anti-vehicle. He wants perfect counters (low TTK, low skill floor - preferably resource free - not costly 450 Nanite Maxes or the stress of tank mines/C4) against ALL Vehicles (mind you, vehicles cost 200 to 450 nanites). Worst of all, most of his responses to any person who may not agree with his worldview are filled with vitriol (he called me a liar - don't care though).

    Unfortunately even in this thread he still targets me. Yeah, forum will be more peaceful if RadarX looks at the pattern of Reclaimer77's vitriolic posts. He should play a non-Combined Arms FPS on the market.

    And you did lie. You said AA is effective from several Hexes away. We all know that's BS. Lying, hyperbole, whatever you want to call it, you did it. So own up to it. And of course you care, you got all kinds of butt-hurt over that and went crazy trying to defend your "honor" or something. Just a big act to deflect from the fact that you make ludicrous claims you can't back up.

    You're just hurt now because I threw your stat-based attack back in your face and proved you're absolutely dependent on air being OP to do anything in this game. Your infantry KPD is seriously 0.09. I mean, how can you even show your face here with that?

    So you want to say AA is fine and air isn't OP, when you yourself can't even tie your own shoes and carry a gun. But suddenly when you get in your Scythe, you pull down 5+ KPD and think you're an amazing player? You honestly think that due to your "skill" and not a horrible game imbalance?

    Yeah someone here is all kinds of biased, and it's not me.

    And another thing, you keep bringing up my TR alts stats. I fully admit that's not my best character, but you do realize those stats are WAY better than yours in almost every way that matters right?

    Outside of your vehicle, you are absolutely UNABLE to contribute in any way. And even in it, being a lone wolf ESF pilot is hardly something that people need you to be. At least on my TR alt, I participate in the meta and help my Empire win alerts.

    There's enough single-unit type games on the market, Planetside doesn't need to split itself into three more of them.

    Anyone who has run into a Lancer nest, a MANA AV, or even a lockon squad knows infantry AV is no joke in this game. What it often is though, is unsatisfying on an individual level. This is because like many things in Planetside, it's built around spam.

    Unfortunately, Planetside 2 is a game of spam. Anyone can pull anything at any time with no restrictions except for nanites on vehicles, which quickly regenerate on a per-person basis. As a result everything can be spammed, pretty much everything is designed to be spammed, and most things are ineffective if they are not spammed. And there's not really much that can be done about it without turning Planetside into a very different game. It'd need a comprehensive resource system that applies to every bean and bullet, and non-standard equipment would need restrictions ranging from the squad to the platoon level to enforce scarcity.
