Not gonna happen. 2hk on headshot for LA is too powerful. Any other class would be fine with scout rifles. But if light assult had to get one it would probably be the autos.
Maybe the automatic one, but definitely not any semi-auto variant. Two shot tapping is powerfull and combined with the mobility of a jetpack too powerfull.
Don´t be sad. If there ever are BA rifles that are able to body-one-shot, i would vote for scouts on LA
Prenerfed VS slugguns were similar to semi-autos before they got bullet drop: SA scout rifle is better than the old VS sluggun: higher bullet speed (up to +270m/s) and more attachments (VS silenced SR is deadly quiet ).
Not much point of the autoscout rifles on classes other than infil. It is widely known that they are sub-par weapons, and they're only good because it's on a class with cloaks. For example, the T5 AMC carbine. In terms of killing power, it is statistically superior (velocity, damage dropoff (HVA), mag size)
as a light assault enthusiast I always wanted scout rifles but I, as anyone else who has played a lot of light assault knows this would be overpowered. If I could spill one secret if you want an edge in long range encounters try your factions burst model gun. Or find a higher dmg bit lower RoF but good muzzle velocity gun with or without options of HV Ammo and Compensator and try getting good bursting it at longer ranges. light assault is a great class where you will surely run in to some of the better players in the game up on those bio lab rooftops
I dunno. As a Light Assault, I would love to have a low capacity automatic weapon that I could use at longer ranges, with better damage output. Comparing Razor to The Shadow (I believe?), they are used at reasonably similar ranges, but the Scoutrifle has a much better rof.
Comparing razor to af18, razor has much better damage per shot, damage per magazine, reload speed, velocity.... And then GCB just ***** all over both of them. Use your burst carbine if you want a real long-range LA gun.
light assaults getting any long range weapons would be too synergetic with their ability. You know like how giving infiltrators smgs, or medic assault rifles ....wait a second
LOL exactly. People are okay with giving 0 COF, OHK rifles that have no rival and that there is almost no defense against to the class that can go invisible. But perish the thought that of giving less-accurate, 2HK weapons to the class whose only ability is to be able to lazily jet over low walls or get up onto perches that anyone can drop or ESF-bail onto anyway. I see no reason why LAs shouldn't have Semi-auto Acout Rifles/Battle Rifles. An LA with a semi-auto Scout rifle would still get stomped on by enemy snipers, tanks, aircraft, LAs chasing after them with automatics, AI/AV MANA Turrets, RLs, wall turrets, etc. LAs have no cloak. I know from experience that if you try to use a long range weapon (in my case, The Eidolon, Nyx, and Warden) and you have no cloak, enemy snipers will find you very quickly, no matter what high perch you might be sitting on.
I'd probably never touch my infiltrator again (yes I would) if SOE gave my LA an auto scout rifle turbo flash with drifter and C4 for tanks and such turbo flash to get into plinking position with my shiny auto-scout drifters to bail out of said plinking position more C4 for flash bomb surprise just for all those harassers I would miss being able to hack though......
I recently got back into this (I'm NC). At mid-range it's pretty damn effective, you just need to learn what it takes to compensate for the bullet drop. The VS were rushing a bio-lab the other day and I was perched up on the legs of the structure plinking away at 'em. I was using the basic semi-auto shotgun that everyone gets with extended mags and a 2x. As long as you can judge where you need to aim, slug shotties will serve you well. I think I'm going to try a slug pump next.
I'd be fine with it. A lot of theorycrafters think it would be OP because.. everything is OP in their eyes. Jetpack + beamer = omfg nerf wtf.
Shadow is the semiauto one, I think you're talking about the Stalker. It has better RoF but at range, the razor is superior. It has a higher bullet velocity (even more with HVA), better recoil (and also advanced foregrip), better damage, better damage dropoff especially with HVA, and better hipfire for panic CQC. It also reloads faster. Engineers and heavies originally had the battle rifle. Medics, with their assault rifles, earned a place in direct 'battle' and so got battle rifles. A light assault is less of a direct 'battle' orientated class, and fills the role of a 'scout' better, so should get scout rifles! But yes, if LAs can't get scout rifles, it would be nice to get at least battle rifles
