Save up for vandal or upgrade my infiltrator?

i moved across the country (michigan to oregon) so decided id switch to west coast server (connery) on NC from the east coast server (Emerald). ..because apparently we are not allowed to transfer characters /cry

    anyways.

Post pretty much sums it up, ive found i really enjoy stalker/shadow scout rifles in general play, i feel more relevant to the team but i get to operate at a more comfortable range then when using smg (of wich i dont even own any anyways).

So should i focus on trying to cert up to a vandal? or focus on my skills...of wich ill be focusing on fire arm resistance and hunter cloak and motion detector initially (to keep with the scout rifle gameplay, im finding even with just 2 points into fire arm resistance im already much happier)

    also i have to ask

    HOW DO YOU SUSTAIN IMPLANTS?!

i stopped playing before implants were released, and started up again recently....im ALWAYS at 0 energy, and i have one energy capsule thing, if i use it, it wont even last that long...

if there is a way to sustain these things, wich one should i aim for given that im enjoying scout rifles? (like alot)

eventually want to save up for stalker/carver combo too and go knife people, but not yet...not yet...

Id recommend grabbing your auto scout rifle and upgrading hunter to second to last tier and using your recon darts (not the deployable), and id also recommend ammo belts not nanoweave. If youre getting shot at, youre probably going to die anway unless you have the skill and speed to shoot them in the face first. I take more bullets=more kills than less bullets=able to take a few more shots. Also for implants play engy as an alt spec for a couple hours a day, you get chargers pretty quick

    Thanks for replying Ballto21

I have my NC auto scout rifle (i bought a few things with cash before i stopped playing before)

so i currently have both NC stalker (auto) and NC shadow (semi)

why darts over the motion sensor? just curious

and i think it might be a playstyle preference, while id appreciate more bullets, theres been too many times already where i woulda died after achieving a advantageous position on the map that nanoweave has helped me with. I can try both obviously.

    and engineer..ok...but...COUPLE HOURS A DAY?

im lucky to play THE GAME a couple hours a day

side affect of working 50 hours a week i think. plus spending time with friends/family.

Darts vs Motion Sensor is a hot topic :) I am a full spotter supporter myself. One of the reasons leads to your second issue with implants. A maxed out spotter in a big fight will generate a ton of XP events over an extended period of time. Each xp event has a % chance of dinging a implant drop. That is why engy and medic are good implant farmers. Each repair tick earns you an implant dice roll. Well, the spotter is our XP and implant generator. Cert it, max it, love it. I run regen 2 on everything, have all the level3 implants, and have over 200 chargers. Its not skill or magic...its just math :)

Also, you said "cert up to a vandal". Vandal isn't better or worse than your faction scouts. It is just different. Starting from 0 like you are, your certs are a much better value used on stuff to help you survive. Spotter, cloak, suit slots, etc. Don't spend on Vandal until you have auraxed the other 2.

well, if you dont have much time spend 1/10 of your time repairing. a 20 minute run as engy gives you about 1-2 chargers. and itss s preference thing, i dont like the deployable because it shows up on the map and is a giant beacon, and shooting a dart 50m away and running away from it can lure enemies to go infiltrator hunting, thinking youre covering your own *** if you fire 2 in the same direction then go the other way. it opens up flanking for me in other words, also since its ranged if im running to say, a shield generator, i can get some quick recon before i run in.

@blzbug, aside from the creepy name, thanks for the reply! thats a good point on the motion sensor and i may have to use it just to get more certs as engineer really doesnt appeal to me (in order of appeal is infiltrator, max, heavy...all the rest fall to the wayside for me)

why do you run regen 2? just for longevity?

I was just asking cuz it has some nice features from what i was reading. non faction color markers, unique sound, decent movement when adsing, etc.

Also what does it mean to auraxed? ill have to google that...

@Ballto21, a good strategy with the darts, i didnt know shield showed up on the map. but i think ill do spotter for now, for better xp generation.

anyone else want to chime in?

I mostly wraith and smg, so regen gives longevity as you said. Regen 1 is really all you need. I run 2 because....why not :) My energy level never drops. I don't run 3 because I'm a miser LOL. I want to hoard the energy for the times when I might want to run a "real" tier 3 implant.

Aurax = get the auraxium medal for a weapon. 1100 kills.

Vandal is a perfectly good weapon. It just isn't different enough from your faction semi-auto to be worth spending certs on if you *already have* the shadow and had to restart from a low BR. Certs are better invested elsewhere.

I know you're cert-starved, but you might also consider the wraith. Certing up the flash with Fury really opens up a whole set of options that are really effective. And more important, really really fun :)
