Sauron refund

They can hide behind the EULA all they want... but treating customers poorly and not listening to them will lose SOE customers.

SOE is a company that doesn't care who they screw, and doesn't care about their customers. Its clear that they're hell bent on doing whatever they want and have no consideration for their customers whatsoever.

Considering PS2 is pretty much still in development, nothing's truly set in stone. Changes are to be expected, that's software development no matter how much you twist and turn it. It doesn't mean you're not entitled to a refund nor does it mean that you are entitled. Just calm down the rage.

The change to the Saron points to the direction the game is heading.

The game is about spam and short timers (short attention span of gamers). This is what the majority of the membership appears to want.

People want to log on and get in a fight (the new map flow chart), once there, they like to get up close and personal (because most can't aim) and/or spam weapon fire. People want crowds and lots of bang.

Hence, the primacy of shotguns or weapons that spew out a high volume of fire (size of TR population) or, higher damage per shot (the smaller NC pop). With little care to accuracy. The aimers, (the VS pop) tends to be on the wane. Perhaps this prompted the change in the Saron, I'm not sure.

The future of the game will be the zerg (flow of the new pop funnel system) and spam.

I know this is just based on my perspective, but I think it's pretty accurate.

Are you serious? The Saron now is better than before, I even found it easier to kill infantry now (before trying it, intuition told me the opposite), and the more importantly, it's way more fun to use now, if only for the removal of the firing delay which was REALLY annoying.

I also got the Saron with SC and I really don't mind this change because it was for the best

EULA aside. They are free to nerf and buff all the stuff of this game. But scaring customers isn't the best idea.

Since GU7 we have had the same discussions about the COSMOS (VS MAX AI weapon). Before GU 7 it has had the best COF and now the worst COF - and at all, no word in the patch notes. The most unlocked them because of the small COF and not of the really huge ammo amount it has.

It would be fair, if SOE offers a replacement after such a huge revamp, if you aren't satisfied with the changes. Choosing another weapon with cert transfer would be a nice touch.

Sorry, no refunds on incredibly powerful evil demigods unless returned in original packaging.

They can change whatever they want but doesn't mean they should. I think it is alright for customers to push for changes and re-iterations for the weapons and other stuff. Demanding refund when they accepted a legal contract that says there will be changes and refund is not possible if you do not like the changes is not okay in my book.

I want a Gandalf refund first. That guy was just a waste of space.

This isn't balancing, it's a total replacement. This is a totally new low for SOE.

never buy a weapon until 2-4 weeks passed

And one should note that within reason, changes are more than fine. But when you bought a sniper rifle and it gets replaced with a carbine, that's a bit much, wouldn't you agree?

Well no legally they can't demand the refund. But companies should listen to customers anyway - and sometimes grant these refunds... there's such a thing as goodwill, which is an intangible business asset. Apple granted massive refunds when they changed the pricing on the original iPhone, they were not legally obligated to do, but did it anyway.

The problem with SOE here that I'm highlighting is their crass disregard for their customers. If you own a shop and you're always rude to your customers, sooner or later, your business is going to head down the tubes and people will stop coming back.

btw in the EU your protected by law to get a refund (i think 30 days), BUT if you do you can lose your account

in the rest of the world if you paid with a credit card you can get a refund from the credit card company.. but again you will lose your SOE account

If have an issue and request a refund you should file a petition, not place the gripe on the forums where you will be ridiculed and mocked.

Is it just me or do the changes in today's hot fix actually make it better than pre-09 and an actual kick rear weapon?

I myself feel the same about my enforcer, I don't really want a refund or anything, yes it's a better gun now in the eyes of dpm (for those who like being up in tankers faces.); but it most certainly is far from what made me eagerly buy it in the first place, the pin point reticle (hasn't changed, just a reason vs. the halberd), the high damage per shot/high velocity, and little drop. Sure I can just adjust my new drop and continue to use it as a sniper cannon, but the punch is gone and it's no longer very viable for my once was play style. Which was very long range. Like said, I don't expect a refund or anything of that sorts, but I can sympathize with the OP about the Saron, and its changes leaving a bad taste in his mouth after dumping hard earned money, time and certs upgrading it only to have it whisked out our play style which we bought for in the first place.. They took our sniper rifles and turned them into smg's, in a sense, as someone previously mentioned.. While the EULA stands, all I can say is it wasn't cool, and I'm going to be more skeptical with my next purchases within PlanetSide..

To all those folks crying "I paid for this weapon!"... you KNOW this is what happens! EVERY weapon sooner or later gets modified nerfed or surpassed by something else. Things change constantly in PS2, it's been a fact of life since day one!

You cry now because its just happened to YOU. What about all the folks who complained about your weapon of choice... are their complaints not valid? What would you say to them? Probably, "Hey, you KNOW what this weapon can do... tough cookies."

Wait till people get tired of all the shotgun spam and they REALLY nerf them and something new comes out.
What will the complaints be then?

I doubt this will happen though as the game is going down a path familiar to every other FPS's methodology. Reduce the epicness to a small map filled with a crapload of people falling all over each other. Shotguns are useful in that enviroment.

PS 2 claims to be an "evolving" game, unfortunately, I think this is to cover up their way of making money... weapon creep. Despite the "lateral" movement of one weapon to another claimed early on.

Get used to it... consider your 7 bucks or time spent in certs as payment to play the game and stop whining.

    Links are broken on:
    -android

    --chrome
    --opera
    --IE

    -macbook pro

    Pretty sure they're broken dude.

Thats the reason why I dont buy anything from SOE and Sony anymore. They ****** too often with their supportive customers.
I spent 80euro on launch to support them to get the game to the strategic depth of PS1 - all they do is launching one bugged overpowred weapon after the other to milk idiots from their hard earned money and screw the whole gameplay and game mechanics for this specific sales offer - e.g. buffing vehicle exp - nerfing tanks and at same time - launching 4 different and increasingly overpowered rocketlauncher systems in a row for a pay to win.
