Am still waiting to hear from someone at Sony to whom do I send my request for refund of Certs and Money. This is not the gun I purchased and this is not the gun I spent my hard earned certs on. If I wanted this "new" sauron I would have bought something like PPA. (And no, this is not discussion comparing uses of Sauron vs PPA) It is incredible rude what they did. And I expect a refund. I have no use for this gun and no amount of buffing and polishing will make it right what you did. I spent my money, my certs my time to purchase, upgrade and learn to use Sauron and now, you ****** us. ****** us from behind. How are you not ashamed? This "buff" will not make it right, it just tells us that you ****** up big time and have seen the mistake. Now, do the right thing and give us back our money and time (certs) because unless you are thinking about bringing back the old Sauron your "buffs" are meaning less. Why you couldn't make another gun with those stats ? I want my money and certs refunded.
Next time you invest in something, consider this; This is a massive game that is bound to have changes. That might include the weapons you buy.
Calm down, it's better now, its AI sniping was cheesey, and its' AV sniping was cheesey. However, that didn't mean it should be some far lower DPS, useless blunderbuss. The changes see that and are making it less so, it may still be pretty bad who knows, have to test it, at least they recognize an obviously bad change and have shown they are willing to correct it, whether it's any good now or not, idc, at least i can see a marked improvement in SOEs approach to the game and balance, that is worth far more.
Like I said in another thread about this: Give it some time and learn the new weapon. It's still very potent at range if you just wait half a second between every shot and my god it's close range power. Tested it with a friend and up close it beats both the Enforcer and Vulcan at mowing down a sunderer. It takes less than 10 seconds to nuke a sundy with this thing and that's without the driver using his gun. That's twice as fast as the supposedly OP Vulcan takes down a sundy. Also 2-shots infantry. At range the damage is comparable to what it was before, just sustained, not burst. Honestly you had a Halberd clone with no drop, now you got a weapon with no drop that is very good at range and wrecks vehicles up close. Basically if a Magrider or two Harassers with Sarons roll up next to your sunderer don't even bother to repair it. It'll be down in under 5 seconds.
As much as i want him to stop crying... I heard every player is entitled to ONE refund, no questions asked.
You dont understand. And why are all of you covering for SOE? This is not the weapon I purchased, or any of us purchased. They could have introduced a new gun and I would have maybe even spent more money. But to change it so drastically is down right rude and I feel cheated. I want my money back even if I turn right back and purchase the Sauron again but they need to know that this kind of **** is not acceptable.
I'm shocked. ... by the fact this is the first time OP has been shafted by a nerf in PS2! Everyone else has come to grips with the weapon balancing situation already.
As am I. This was not a balancing thing they did. This was a totally different weapon they did. If they reduced damage or something else to "balance" it. Fine, but dont change the mechanics of the gun it self.
You agreed with the Terms of Service and within those terms it was written you accept that anything purchased or unlocked is subject to change at the discretion of SOE and refunds will not be given.(some exceptions exist on a case by case level however) Also this isn't lord of the rings.... saron***
As someone already told you, read the EULA: "You acknowledge that online games evolve over time and system requirements to play the Game may change over time. You may need to upgrade your system (or obtain a new system) to play the Game. You agree that SOE retains the unfettered right to modify any and all aspects of its games, and that SOE has been making, is making, and will continue to make changes to its games. You further acknowledge that SOE can and will, in its discretion, modify features, functions or abilities of any element of the Game, which may, among other things, make any Paid Content (defined below) or any aspect of its Game, such as items, powers, abilities, gifts, experience, experience points, coins and Station Cash (collectively, "Virtual Goods") substantially more or less effective or functional, or less effective or functional, or more common or less common. SOE may add, modify, remove, replace, eliminate and reintroduce such aspects from the Game at any time and at its sole discretion."
That, and maybe I just don't understand the attachment people have to the Saron. So many threads about it and even though I try to ease their minds and say that they turned what was basically a Halberd clone with pew pew effects into an AV weapon with very good (just not bursty) long range capability and the most devastating close-range damage of any secondary and it can 2-shot kill infantry to boot. Even a lot of Vanu (and some NC about the Enforcer) used to call it a Halberd clone and complain about it constantly. Now they both still have long range capability and their DPS is good up close too. Something that can't be said for the Vulcan. Sure, I know what will come: "It not saim wepon!" and that's the only argument they need apparently, no matter how awesome they made it.
It clearly states in their TOS that they can do this. By buying the weapon, you agreed to this. Stop your tears.
Umm, all game companies balance things and change things all the time. Welcome to online gaming, this kind of thing is to be expected. You can snipe infantry, you have more ammo, you can kill tanks just fine. It's a lot better after today..
Again, and AGAIN. This is not about the weapon it self and its efficiency or drawbacks its about how SOE treats its customers. We must look like a bunch of idiots that have money to burn. I feel cheated and I don't like feeling cheated, and I would like to think that most of use would feel that way. You gave your money and most important your time to a certain thing and then some idiot comes along with an idea and changes everything, everything you spend your precious time on. How the **** should I feel? Submissive? as I now see most people are getting over this issue. So they ****** us but they buffed the Sauron somewhat so its usable now. **** you, that is no what I spend my money and certs on. If change was to balance it , ok, but this **** ... from 1500 to 425 damage ??? COF of the scale. 6 shot magazine, That was not a balance issue that was down right insulting. I read the EULA and is as standard as it gets. End user gets no protection. You purchase a sniper and got an shotgun, whos to blame. The end user for purchasing and trusting the company to do good by them.
