I wish there was a separate command for TK'ing/trolling and another for hacking, because hacking is MUCH more important than someone who calls someone a *****. I watched someone speed hack around as a heavy, and I never stood a chance. Got lucky and he ran into my tank on accident while speed hacking, so I reported his name, but it's doubtful anything will be done, since I can't even specify what they were doing.

It was blatant speed hacking too. He wasn't lag-teleporting, or glitching in and out from lag, nor exploiting. He was going up to 150 km/h to run away from my tank whenever I aimed my gun at him...as a Heavy Infantry. Lol.

Few things: as stated before, the instant repair bug where vehicles instantly get repaired to full is a common enough bug. It has been in the game for around 2 months now (in beta). In my opinion over exploitation of it should be punished, but expecting a player to log off or destroy a vehicle when they just spawned it just because SOE places this bug low on the priority list is goofy. If they implemented resource and timer refunds to deconstructed vehicles I would say you have 1 instant repair, but after that you are expected to decon (relog if needed) and get a new one.

I haven't personally tried to /ignore yet because I didn't know it existed. this leads me to three points.
    1) if it isn't working it needs to be. Any MMo without an ignore feature wont keep my attention for long. Eventually the /command channel will become populated with the same trade chat morons from games like WoW that drove me away (along the dev teams **** work) from that game. That was in a sub game, i imagine a F2P game will be worse. Especially with it being on steam, i have experienced a large pop of Internet nerds in most steam games. ugh.
    2) if it is working it needs to be advertised, it should be SUPER OBVIOUS and there should be a list in the UI somewhere where you can access your ignore list and edit it (eh, im over it. ill un ignore these 3 that were being stupid a month ago), or cull the list if it gets full (assuming there is an ignore cap. that was always the worst in wow, being at ignore cap.)

    and lastly the warpgate issue.
I contacted the devs and ps2 on twitter 2 or 3 weeks ago about rampant warp gate griefers. then again a week ago. Both times they replied 'we're working on a fix'. The fix is easy, do it.
I'd rather be killed now and then by a vehicle collision and then have that person be grief locked for an hour than lose 4,5, 6, 10 liberators in a day to the same 2-3 *** hats. implementation of vehicle collision with grief procurement in the warpgate would band aid it.
Allowing me to bind at a base like in ps1 would also solve the problem for me in 95% of situations. I would bind at a small random tower and spawn safely. I redeploy sometimes to indar bay (etc) now to get my libs, but it can be a pain getting my gunners to redeploy with me. be easier if i could just get my folk to bind there with me. :D
you could cause vehicle collisions in the warp gate to procure grief without causing damage. Once grieflocked your flight controls would need to be revoked. imo there should be a POW camp in each warp gate where those grief locked get placed. can shoot in but not out. ;) even if i didn't get exp and such i'd have so much fun just siting there spam killing idiots from the other team. yum. ;)

the new player experience right now isn't so good. I have introduced 6 or 7 people to the game, they get flustered pretty quick because they don't know what's going on. The ui can be unintuitive to them and even something as simple as purchasing grenades can be a task to explain. The videos are nice and some of them have watched them and taken info from them but remember who your base is. they have the attention span of a newborn kitten. OH WAS DAT?! When you couple the issues with the learning curve with issues with rampant cheating and griefing and couple with the OBSCENE power that is even an unskilled pilot the first few hours of game play can very easily be VERY negative for many players. Those first few hours are CRITICAL for player retention. Yes, the base is strong right now but as people bleed away and leave there has to be people to replace them, otherwise in 6 months you'll be looking at 2-3 powerhouse servers and 5-6 lousy servers with 75% pop of a certain faction. bleh.

Ah but you still responded stating you care, your argument is invalid.

Care what? And what argument? If I cared about bandwidth I wouldn't have replied to either his or any of your pointless posts. Crazedmonk, on the other hand, does care. His lack of further replies is proof, and which means my comment worked on him. Anyway, if you want to interject other people's conversation, at read all the posts in it.
  5. Believer

wow another cheater wannabee, only lvl 20, its just not the same dying to a cheating coward that isn't lvl 40, so lame...

These posers make cheating look bad, the pros will NEVER get caught, they practice discipline.
  6. Rizen

They knew about the hacks back in beta when there were players topping the leaderboards with 6k kills and no deaths. Banning bots for companies like SOE is low priority because they lose the money if the player has a subscription or buys items. If it was high priority they wouldnt have let their devs spend weeks of development time running around in god mode killing testers to "test balance".
If they were serious about banning people all they would have to do is make a button on the kill report screen. I suggested that a long time ago, but again, its SOE were working with.
  7. FlR3

Did you say Pros? Cheaters will never be pros at anything except lying, they are just lowlifes. Unless you meant to say Fake pros! The way you put it, it sounds like you admire cheaters and maybe something else?
  8. Lord Gentlecrab

    This.

Actually in beta the leader board was bugged, they said so repeatedly. I don't think they give a damn if they ban cheaters with subscriptions. Plus, I guarantee you there's no reason for a cheater to have a subscription because they're racking up ridiculous points and they're probably kids with no money.
  10. Crazedmonk86

Forum bandwidth.... really? Your foolish nuff said. Now go die to hackers and rage some more while I pwn kiddos with my HE lightning and make tears flow.
  11. Believer

I meant to point out that without some seriously aggressive practices, cheating will always be an issue. They'll get rid of the mouth-breathing idiots in short order, but those that are committed to cheating their way to the top will go unchecked. Also, pro means professional means FOR MONEY, nothing else.
  12. FlR3

Thats right, the only real way is to hit them in their wallet. Injecting code/changing the code to something different than what is suppose to be there causes damage. That alone should be enough to sue. Like I have said before sue them so hard that they couldn't afford a tissue to cry in.
  13. Darkzero

Yeah, not you see how foolish it is caring about other people's mailbox is.
  14. SternLX

That made no sense at all. considering the Repair tool has never looked like a VS rocket launcher. Not even in Beta.
  15. iller

I wish we had an /unreport.... incase the (typically a cheater with a really misleading use of 0/o's or i/1/l's) name we typed in was the wrong person's name. ...Or what we originally thought was blatant cheating in the first 3 encounters proved to be luck when we encountered them a few more times later and they seemed legit enough to cancel the report.
  16. Xyeth

Hopefully they do something obvious to fix this soon. I hadn't encountered anything that I couldn't attribute to lag until the last week when I've seen the net limiter hack several times now and getting shot through walls in a sealed spawn room. I've also seen the flipping of aircraft in the warp gate to keep others from taking off and other general griefing.

SOE - please do something about this otherwise there's no point in even playing the game. Also, please remove all traces of hackers stats from everyone's records when you ban them.
  17. Rayden78

When you play regularly engineer, you just press 3 and fire ... if you are lucky you are able to point the rocket launcher into the sky before it fires.

God I smell so much ******** in this post it's almost unbearable. You have not met 15 aimbotters in 3 hours on 1 day. You haven't. You just don't understand how good some players can be. Either that or you're just overreacting to the point of sadness.

My new NC character I just made is infantry only and has a K\D ratio of 25-1. That's because I play LA + Infiltrator on it mostly. You probably would've cried I was a hacker as well -> 1 shot headshot kills etc... Bahh... You ppl drive me crazy. I've put countless hours in characters on all sides and I've only seen a couple of REAL obvious hackers.

It's either the above OR you're the most unlucky person ever on a server that has entire hacking outfits\squads.
  19. krone

WAY TOO MANY HACKERS / CHEATErS ALREADY!

I just started playing this game 2 days ago, I'm amazed to see that SOE actually have the nerve to ask for money from players with so many hackers and cheaters around. Its like i'm being compelled by sony to download these cheat programs so i can get some fair gameplay.

I would actually consider spending money on upgrades and items if it wasn't so obviously a blatant waste of money. I don't understand how games can even be released these days with absolutely no working cheat detection available. Good one SOE, zero respect for you guys from the legit gaming community.
  20. DarkDestry

Well heres an idea for cheat prevention. Make the client force a hash check and report it to the server if the hash doesnt match you flag the client and observe it if its due to an error then forget it and if its hacking you know it already.
