Render Flora issue

    I edit my user options for performance and one of the settings I change is RenderFlora. I set it to RenderFlora=Off instead of RenderFlora=On. Each time I start the game, however, the flora is rendered. When I go back and look at the user options...it is set back to RenderFlora=On.

    This was not an issue in the past. My useroptions settings are as followed:
    [Rendering]
    GraphicsQuality=1
    TextureQuality=0
    ShadowQuality=0
    RenderDistance=1250
    Gamma=0.000000
    MaximumFPS=120
    UseLod0a=0
    OverallQuality=-1
    LightingQuality=1
    EffectsQuality=1
    TerrainQuality=5
    FloraQuality=0
    ModelQuality=5
    VerticalFOV=74
    ParticleLOD=2
    ParticleDistanceScale=0.650000
    FogShadowsEnable=0
    MotionBlur=0
    VSync=0

    Set the file to read only

    It's entirely possible that what you are experiencing is the result of a corrupt data file. Run your Planetside 2 Launchpad and log in, but do not press play. Click on the Advanced Tools icon (looks like a hexagon surrounding a wrench) in the lower left and then choose the option to open game directory. In the window/folder that comes up, locate, make backups of, and delete the following files

    PlanetSide2.exe
    ActivityUserData.ini
    LaunchPad-user.ini
    LoadingScreen.xml
    InputProfiles.xml
    SoundSettings.xml
    UserOptions.ini
    vivoxoal.dll
    vivoxsdk.dll

    Once these files are deleted, close the Planetside 2 window/folder and go back to the Launchpad > Advanced Tools/Settings menu. Click on the Validate Game Assets menu option and then press the green Validate button to have the Launchpad check your game files, and download any missing or corrupt files.

    FloraQuality=0 is not off anymore, Off is now 4.

    Also need to make sure that:

    [Terrain]
    RenderFlora=Off

    Or just delete your useroptions.ini, then startup the game, it will make a new one.
    Then go into graphic options and set Flora on Off, and it will make these changes to your new useroptions.ini

    Setting the file to read only is not really a fix and I would not recommend doing that...
    Any changes you make in game will not be able to be made by the game to the useroption.ini file if it set to read only..

    P.S.
    TextureQuality=0 is "Ultra" textures, to run this setting while on graphic quality 1 is pointless, put it back on low..
    TerrainQuality=5 will default to medium, so why not just run it on medium
    ModelQuality=5 will default to medium, so why not just run it on medium
    ParticleLOD=2 is high, why you running particles on high when it seems like your trying to optimize for best framerate?
    Drop it to medium, you still get the particle effects when your close up, it just doesn't show them on distant objects.

    At this point I would just delete your useroptions.ini and have the game make a new one..
    Set everything on low, and shadows and flora on off, terrain, models, particles on medium.

    If you found my post helpful, give it a thumbs up.
