Remove SMGs and shotties from HA?

    I would remove first the smg from infiltrator, and make it an LA weapon. Infiltrators should not have such a good option in cqc.

    Seems to me an HA can have a close assault AI loadout, like SMG or Shotty or a longer range AI loadout like LMG or BR, or an AV loadout at any time thanks to RL, with with grenades of choice for each role. They are meant to be versatile in any situation that involves direct combat I would have thought - as opposed to the various specialists who are versatile in other roles. I was just thinking that a wide range of primaries, three types of grenade and an RL plus, on top of all that, C4 as well is a bit of overkill maybe? (given that the use of C4 against infantry as well as tanks has become so popular). I am a confirmed HA fan so this is not a nerf whinge. It is a genuine question.

    I'm of the mindset SMGs should be infil exclusive. But meh.

    Hell no. If so remove Sniper rifles.
    All classes got a specific weapon categorie. And some are additions. (Id say give Infis Shotties as well, because that Cyclone behind you or a Claw behind you. Youre dead anyway)

    As long as the dev and people playing infiltrators will be satisfied with them being good in cqc, they won't try to find new roles for infiltrators. This is a class that had a chance to do things quite differently, and more than half of the people who play them just want to rekt people with cloak+smg. No chance of ever seeing more efficient hacking, vehicle hacking, etc, appear, as long as an infiltrator is mostly as good as any other class at any distance.

    I guess heavy, engineer,and light assault will never see development either

    I dont really have a good rebuttal to this but i dont find it making much sense

    Heavy must be good at CQC, and they are, but don't you think there could be more interesting things to do with infiltrators than trying to fight on equal terms with HA? CQC is not their primary goal, nor their second, well, not even their third. This class is not supposed to do anything in cqc BUT they got one of the best cqc class of weapons? Why don't we give them shotgun and lmg too, that's totally cool with infiltrating, as much as SMGs.

    Leave HA with the knife only, it will compensate for their gamebreakingly op insane invincible shield.

    Heavy assaults already have the best CQC weapons, being LMGs. With (the exception of the cyclone i think) Almost all LMGS have a higher DPS than any other weapon in the game at CQC, except shotguns and maybe carbines. Couple that with a free 700 hp, and theoretically infinite if you can get kills with adrenaline (usually more like 1000 hp with adrenaline i think is the number i saw if they got more than three kills with it) Not to mention the ammo pool in each mag LMGs sport.

    SMGs however, while a great CQC weapon and have a pretty high DPS, cannot match up with an assault rifle or LMG toe to toe, theyre only good for hit and run as an SMGfiltrator. Go to a sundy, rack up about 4 kills, and piss off. The only time an infiltrator with really any weapon SMGs included can kill a heavy is if he gets the jump on him and shoots the back of his head, or hes some kind of headshot wizard and lands more headshots than anything else to break the shield/out DPS him.

    Best LMG'S DPS top at 143@750 (T9 CARV, Orion, MSWR)

    Serpent, HV 45: 143@845
    GD7F: 143@845
    Torq 9: 125@857
    Lynx: 125@909
    These are just examples, any carbine or AR that's made for it will top any lmg both in dps, and hipfire precision in cqc.
    So, engineers, LA and medic all have weapons that are superior to lmgs in cqc, my point is to let that be this way, BUT not make part of the infiltrator's role a powerhouse of CQC.

    Yes, those weapons have a slightly higher dps than some LMGs. But lmgs all have a higher DPM because their magazine is close to twice and sometimes four times the size of a carbine. Sustained fire is important and i did include some, not all, carbines in having higher dps

    Not saying that I'm for removing SMGs from the HA class, but why should HA have access to highly effective CQC weapons(some of which have the highest headshot ttks in the game)? They already have the highest health in the game due to their overshields.
